graphics jumpscares epic
Genuinely one of the best games I've ever played. The Act 1 gameplay is by far the best part; it is incredibly fun. Act 2 felt incredibly bland to me, i wont spoil anything but a couple important parts of the gameplay felt unfinished. Act 3 was very interesting but didn't feel like it mechanically built up until the very end. The out-of-game sections were very interesting and, for the most part, believable and immersive. All of the characters you interact with are very interesting and well written. There is an ARG attached that I will NOT be doing because it looks like a lot of work, but that's what the internet is for. I will say, I agree with a lot of negative reviews. The game's story does devolve and the gameplay gets less fun over time. Maybe once I'm off the high of just playing the game I'll have a more negative opinion, but the beginning was just so incredibly strong that I can't do anything but recommend it. TL;DR: Starts out perfect, ends pretty alright. If you're thinking about it, buy it.
