This is a slow-burning game. Take your time, look closely and put the story together at your own pace through hidden details, symbols and moments that don’t feel quite right.
Immerse yourself in a haunting world that mixes Victorian and Western themes. You’ll travel through abandoned spaces and surreal locations, following subtle clues that slowly reveal a bigger mystery.
You play as Booker, a man searching for answers after his wife's disappearance. Along the way, Magnus speaks to you, guiding you, questioning you and revealing fragments of truth as the world unfolds around you.
Magnus’ voice lies at the heart of the experience, shaping how the story is told.
As you move forward, the voice becomes both a guide and a presence, driving the events that lead you toward your final chapter.

Reviews
Excellent eerie atmosphere. A haunted town in the Wild West is such a unique horror setting, and I didn’t expect to be drawn into it so quickly. Fresh, creepy, and memorable.
Magnus White's voice stays with you long after the credits roll. Inner Voice is a slow, atmospheric walk through grief and memory - four chapters, each with a distinct setting, all tied together by one haunting narrator. Reminds me of Dear Esther mainly, and Amnesia games, really enjoyed it!
I wanted to take a brief look at the game yesterday evening and I found myself finishing the game in the middle of the night. Well, just to be clear, this is less of a game than an intense experience. It reminded me strongly of the nightmares I used to have as a child. Dim light, loneliness, abandoned places, the architecture… although it’s hard to say where the eerie atmosphere really comes from, it triggered all those feelings I experienced during my nightmares in my childhood. Uncanny sensations created from common buildings, environments and objects. The game plays with your mind and your emotions in a subtle way, similar to works like The Stanley Parable, Twin Peaks, Blair Witch Project, the Backrooms or Shining. You experience loneliness, an eerie kind of nostalgia, claustrophobia, a hard to define feeling of being in the wrong place, dreaming a bad dream, spiced with an occasional jump scare, placed so well that it got me every time. The puzzles are rather easy to solve and serve more as a guideline for the story. The great graphics and sounds contribute to the immersive atmosphere, the Unreal Engine did a really good job there, which was used in a creative way in this game. The sounds and the music a great and I strongly recommend playing the game in the dark at night with headphones on. So if you are a great fan of dark, intense, uncanny and hard to grasp atmosphere like David Lynch managed to create, this is absolutely worth a look!
This game is similar to Layers of Fear. Really good. 8,5/10
This game is very beautiful and atmospheric! There are jump scares, but they aren't overdone. I loved this game because there is no stealth, no chasing, no real threats...just exploration, lots of atmosphere (ominous sounds and music), and slight puzzle solving. If you like Layers of Fear, you will definitely love this game!
Immersive and well-crafted. It succeeds as a horror because It creates an uncomfortable atmosphere where you are unsure about every step. The gameplay is simple but intuitive with puzzles and object collecting tying well with the music and narration as the story and events unfold. Especially the last puzzle is truly unique. You feel the developer's love and care for the game. This passes to the player and as a result you have a good time playing it. Be wary though that this is not a trigger-happy jump-scare action game, but a stylish horror adventure that has something interesting to tell. The graphics are on par with AAA titles. One thing i would improve is the speed of the player. Summing it up: + Great visuals (some effects like the window reflections are quite impressive) + Good music, voice acting + Story with mystery and depth (explores themes like free will and choice consequences) + Puzzle solving that gives you the challenge and gameplay satisfaction - Expected a little faster player speed movement
A slow burning exploration game with good graphics, sounds and atmosphere with horror touches! For people that are into this kind of genres.
modified, having had some time to reflect, its a solid showing, especially for a one man shop.
I do not recommend. Will induce motion sickness, no way to make it so it's able to be played and no quit button without illness inducing motion.
