Suddenly, a panty-shaped demon appears (as game's title suggests) and causes trouble to the two by attacking Aoi. A cat named Neko-Taisho will show up in order to help you...[/b][/i] [h1]Gameplay:[/h1] This is your typical match-three puzzle game, where you have to link three (or more) adjacent slots of same colour in order to clear the pieces. However, in this game we have to combine different pieces of lingerie (aka panties). Each level may demand different prerequisites in order to move on to the next part, such as for example to clear a certain amount of stated lingerie type. While progressing further with levels, the requested goal may result more difficult compared to what we got before. At each level's completion we receive some tokens, which can be used directly at the shop in exchange for a Daruma. At each Daruma's purchase, we should proceed with cracking them open - we can either obtain some panties for our inventory collection or, eventually, some effects to equip. Another useful perk is that with game's progression we will come to unlock a variety of special moves up to our usage during the puzzle part of the game. All in all, the puzzle is not necessarily difficult, but may result tricky at times. For that, it is also highly recommended to evaluate properly what special moves to equip and when to use them. In between of each level we do get short story parts that eventually will become heavily monotonous, as in: same display portrayed with a female character being attacked by the Panty Demon and our protagonist having to free his friends by enrolling into the puzzle game (aka his battle) we are here to play. [h1]Bugs:[/h1] The game is still presenting a variety of bugs I will be listing for game's improvement purposes. [list][*]When the player uses the power that burns slots, often the game either tilts not recreating new tiles or makes you win straight away without allowing you to take the needed moves in order to win. [*]Another bug is when you did select a power to use and either restart the level or are facing a game-over which forces you to restart the stated level, you are able to use it right away at the beginning of the newly started level without recharging the power in question. [*]Near the ending of the game, you are presented with an "X" shaped map coming to levels. At completion of the four, the game will keep making you play the four, instead or proceeding with the next levels (outside of the "X" shaped part), unless you select it manually. [*]Occasionally, instead of character names, the name "Жрица" is shown.[/list] [h1]About the story - length issue:[/h1] As mentioned before, the base story is the same for a very long amount of time, and while being presented with a huge variety of female characters we come to meet, at each step the main character takes the outcome is that the Panty Demon will show up in order to attack the girls. Therefore, we meet the girls in question, interact with them a bit, until they get scared (or entertained) by the Demon attacking them. All of this lasts around 24h of gameplay, with not much being offered coming to the development of the stated story. While not demanding any serious content from such a light-hearted plot, it could be elaborated slightly differently, or, at least not being stretched to such a length considering we have to read over and over pretty much same dialogues for so many hours. Many players may be demanding games of a certain length while purchasing a title for themselves, however this is not the case for me personally. The quality of the game and overall experience you get, is much more important than a huge amount coming to the game's duration. [h1]There are also some negative points I will be listing here:[/h1] [list][*]This game does present a huge amount of typos and incorrect English grammar, which considering the game's price may be quite of a letdown; [*]Am honestly unsure of what to think about of roleplay-like speech during dialogues, if not that I did find it pretty much unnecessary given it was used to indicate actions that could've been described in correct narrational form; [*]Made up antique English forms (personally found unclear whether this point was featured on purpose for the sake of fun or else); [*]I would suggest adding more letter spacing coming to the subbed dialogues featured during puzzles; [*]Found to be of dubious humour the part where Panty Demon decides to attack Shin's little sister (being literally a child).[/list] Another part I did find unclear was how this absurdity of a story kept going on with same plot for many hours and then suddenly flashback-like elements were inserted offering 0 explanations nor context to the player. Further on, the more we got close to the ending, more made up magical powers with no explanations took place from MC's side. The whole story may have worked better if instead of using all those hours to make him barely conversate, he would have acquired certain knowledges on the road, in a way the whole picture would not have appeared so irregularly from the perspective of public trying out this game. [h1]Featurings:[/h1] This is a match-three puzzle game with Visual Novel elements in between of each level. While the idea is nice, the absurdity of this story combined with its length overall do not create as much of a great impact on the player. The story parts are either accompanied by very atmospheric BGM or some lively tunes motivating you to destroy the Panty Demon, which blends very well with the laid-back display we get offered here. The story, as stated, is bizarre - yet everything is very colourful both coming to the sprites and graphics of this game. The character sprites are made in Live2D and do have their own voiced lines in Japanese during the match-three puzzle game levels. The aspect of a puzzle game featuring panties is both original and funny and the in-game detail where you also are able to collect a huge variety of different underwear is both curious and satisfying. The panty variety is very colourful and presenting many different shapes. If unable to unlock some, you can also use a thread you receive in exchange of completing levels or while unlocking a pre-owned pattern. With the stated thread, you can craft instantly underwear of your choice for your collection. The game does present a vast number of characters (mostly female) and a helpful cat that will assist you with the mission of sealing the Panty Demon causing commotion around you. Panty&Demons does present a total of 256 levels and is divided in 4 chapters. The levels are also presented on a little flower map offering us different branchings (but a single ending). The branchings are marked by different flowers; each flower is assigned to a certain character, this way you can see with whom you are going to interact. At the completion of each level, together with tokens and goodies you also do get a rank from Neko-Taisho, as well as, while progressing you get to unlock the traits of characters you come to meet and in-game achievements. [h1]Overall:[/h1] A fun puzzle game featuring a vast amount of panties to unlock. Recommended to public enjoying match-three puzzles as it's the core of the game mechanics but remember that all the other aspects of the product are presenting various negative traits such as the storytelling. Not recommended if you are looking for a Visual Novel offering a quality story.
