inFINIte Robotics

Wonderful game. I wasn't able to understand the last puzzle too well with the clues given, but I managed to complete it when I put some thought behind the AND / OR / NOT Gate logic - took me about an hour or so. Interestingly enough, I learned a lot more in the 1 night I spent playing this game, then I did spending 6 months going to a pretty big mechatronics school in Austria. I've finished the complete game now. Thanks a lot for making this! Keep up the good work! P.S.: Gotta love the Megumin references.

A barebones plot and frankly unbelievable amount of grammatical errors makes inFINIte Robotics a frustrating experience and diminishes any educational value it may have. The story follows Niko, a university student studying electrical engineering. One day, he wakes up late for class and, as he is crossing a street, he's hit by a truck and transported to a fantasy world that previously used electronics, but is now dominated by magic. Upon his arrival in this world, Niko makes his way to an adventuring guild and is assigned the role of engineer, so he meets with one of the town's few engineers. That engineer has some electronics he doesn't know how to use, so then and throughout the story, Niko must explain (both to the characters and the audience) and use his knowledge of electrical engineering to revive the lost art of electronics. One of inFINIte Robotics's selling points is that it introduces readers unfamiliar with electrical engineering to basic concepts from the field through the frame of an Isekai story. However, the writing is chock full of grammatical errors to a ridiculous degree—from subject-verb agreement errors, to parallelism errors, to missing punctuation (even periods!) and capitalization—that make the entire story, let alone the educational segments, incredibly difficult to read. At best, I could adjust my frame of mind to pick out the important words in a sentence and intuit its meaning, and at worst, some sentences were totally incomprehensible. The writing reads more like a casual social media post than a proper novel, but most of the time I'd even say it fails to meet the standards for a comprehensible post. I was able to parse most of the electronics puzzles because I have some previous experience in basic concepts of electromagnetism, but I can imagine someone who's never learned them before struggling due to the game's poor explanations. But grammar and spelling aside, inFINIte Robotics's story is somehow both dull and nonsensical. The protagonist Niko appears one day in a different world, and then somehow with almost no effort he's able to befriend the princess of the realm, become involved in massive conflicts, and resolve those conflicts in the blink of an eye. And somehow, he grows a deep bond with all of the characters he meets despite having only a few conversations with each of them. Overall, I can't sugarcoat it: inFINIte Robotics is a mess. The plot progresses far too fast for its events and the relationships between its characters to make sense, and the incomprehensible prose makes me doubt that anyone with no experience in electrical engineering can learn even its basics from this game. I wish I could get the 90 minutes I spent with inFINIte Robotics back. 2/10
