I will say this, for the discounted price I brought the game for (1.49) I won't be asking for a refund, but the game is a mess. It really is a nice homage to old school arcade shooters like Serious Sam, DOOM or Duke Nukem, but during the game you are left with the feeling that you would rather be playing those instead. If you have 5.99 to spend on a game just buy the First or Second incarnation of Serious Sam, same type of game, much better for this price range. (Under 10). Also the music is annoyingly loud and its not even possible to mute it completely. There are bugs with the armor going into the negatives and also while reloading, if you press shoot before the animation finishes you just waste ammo. Invisible walls are also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Go to Hell... Infernales has recently been updated, and with it comes improvements to both its aiming / combat and UI. Infernales captures the raw appeal of early FPS titles such as DOOM (most notably) and the Serious Sam franchise (in tempo / number of enemies...) both in its hellish setting, red visuals, and unrelenting pace. The game is accentuated by a thumping, droning electronic soundtrack which adds to the effect of fleeing from large swarms of enemies to take them out. I have had a difficult time knowing "where to go" or where weapons are, and I am getting a bit sick of the at-times seemingly-ineffective shotgun... but for all of its designs as being a straightforward, intense shooter with hellish visuals and fast action this game delivers. It would be nice to see more powerups of some kind (ala the orbs of old Doom or the tomes of Heretic...) and some of the effects when enemies die could be more complex (i.e. you see a lot of the same blood spurt from each...) The game also has some collision / exploration issues, which can lead to the player getting stuck in the terrain and forcing a reload, or awkwardly bouncing off of an object (such as a bush that you thought you had gone around only to have to shimmy yourself loose) but what is here is varied overall and the Hellish vistas you are in look impressive, with varied settings ranging from smokey forests, desolate wastelands, cliffsides with lava, and strange meat fortresses while the enemies range from minotaurs, snake women, and skeletons, to floating skulls and cerebuseseses. The game does what it puts forth well and the developer seems receptive to feedback in its early state. I'm glad I bought this game and gave it another go as of late. If you do buy Infernales just know that its aiming, frequency of hits to non-hits, and reloading animations can feel a bit "off" or inaccurate at first, though this may only be due to that I havent come across any of the other guns in its somewhat ambiguous / unstated overall mission structure. You can wander too far off the beaten path in Infernales, into the terrain and clipping through a fair amount of rocksides or even get lodged into some areas of the map with no way of getting out, forcing a reload. To what end you would explore much, I'm not sure, as the game seems to just be scrambling around evading the enemies while exploring the various locales, if nothing more than to just see what large enemy or impressive-looking horizon is next. There seems to be no "Quest or Mission" indicator, which I don't mind since old school FPS were more or less "find the exit" but Infernales could be scattered with a few more powerups or UI indicators of where the player is meant to go to make it feel a little more accessible. I eventually found a stage end boss on a couple separate levels, which looked good but were somewhat boring fights, consisting of mostly just backpedaling while firing, sprinting ahead and reloading before facing them to do the same thing repeatedly. Once you do get used to the game's mechanics (including what seems to be requiring the player to press R to reload, which is either a unique / hardcore mechanic for an FPS or an annoying hindrance -I think it adds to the tension of the incoming swarm of enemies) it is easier to dispatch of the enemies. The game includes an Aim Down Sights, which seems to not make much difference when damaging enemies. Infernales gameplay is a bit similar to other independently-developed FPS titles on Steam as of late, in that it is more or less a throng of enemies which constantly swarm you that you have to fend off. That being said, though, Infernales large, open levels allow for kiting the throng around in a fashion more similar to Doom or Serious Sam when compared to other titles taking place in cramped, restrictive rooms. Infernales also includes aggro zones, so you can hold off on (or go around) enemies. I tried to use an Xbox One USB controller with Infernales, but only the analog sticks were responsive, with RT being mapped to fire. Unfortunately, it didn't appear that sprint or reload buttons had been mapped yet. That being said, its sparse keyboard controls are spot-on. All in all I'm glad I bought Infernales and I want to play more, as it provides a cool and unique depiction of Hell, I just hope there is a "way out" or something to do beyond scrambling around and blasting enemies while hoping to stay alive, as accurate of a depiction as that may be...

As a Chinese gray level player I have to say This game is worse than the Chinese garbage game...I won't play even if it's free
imagine Serious Sam, without the cool weapons, levels, enemies and gameplay. You end up with a product like this. Bug ridden and unplayable.
This game reminds me of Doom, the graphics are really good, the slow mo features good tho I did get stuck in a invisible barrier with no way to run and ended up dead.. the music does tend to get repetitive but all in all this is a cool game which is recommended.
The game is good game, less games look like these type, there are so many devils you can kill. Just there are some littile problems wait to fix.such as:I was flicked when skull soilder dead.I use jump and i will fly out the map in Infernales :creatures of hell map one of the customs.Do not push F5 save it when you dead a split second if you do you will dead and dead again started the save,Unless you new start it again. I can't see my body model when i am dead.Do not shoot when you were reload ammo,Your clip ammo will be less when you were reloading if you push leftmouse button. Then,I hope add many different devils with Satan fight player and disturb player when player in the last chapter.I hope The game will be better,I am looking forward to Infernales continue.. And,Your game music is amazing, I love listen it,
There could be some cathartic fun in shooting asset store monsters, unfortunately, the level design and the enemy AI is so bad, it kinda destroys that. Too many bugs, and glitches. Can't recommend.
I think most people are missing the point about this game, you're in hell. People are complaining about hit registery like the guns barely work, that's how it would be in hell! ever had one of those dreams where you were in a fight and couldn't muster any strength at all behind your punches as if you were underwater or something? I like the game, if it had precision point and click shooting it would be boring, i find this game actually scary, the sounds and visuals and stuff are great, i got this game plus the sequal for less than 2 bucks in a bundle while on sale, so that's awesome, i am gonna try to play more of them when i have the time, you need to be brave to play this game, it is one of the actual scariest i've ever played, the atmosphere is scary, there are jumpscares, it's actually quite brilliant.
All of this game’s major issues, in no particular order:

Any and all text is poorly translated.
The game gets extremely dark when looking in a specific direction.
All of the bosses are massive bullet sponges.
The platforming is awful and required to progress in every other level.
Ammo count sometimes doesn’t update and guns don’t always use a full mag before having to reload.
Some parts of the path are completely obscured, require backtracking, or have wonky collision physics.
The environment is made up of a bunch of invisible walls and random-ass assets haphazardly resized and jotted around the map.
The demons themselves are all pre-made assets pulled from various packs which lack any sort of consistency, other than the warm colour scheme and overall demonic theme.
The music is headache-inducing and the button for disabling it doesn’t actually work. It just makes the music really quiet in the hopes that you won’t hear it.
Quicksaves reset all enemies and pickups, they just remember your location.
Enemies can’t be damaged unless they’re aware of your presence.
Enemies don’t notice you unless you walk in front of them, so you can run to the next checkpoint, jump in a pool of lava to die instantly (You will respawn with the same amount of health/armor this way), then repeat until you reach the boss without alerting any enemies. The pickups will have respawned, so you can farm health, ammo, and armor as many times as you need. The only downside to this method is that you can’t tell where the next checkpoint is, so you may be sent back much farther than you expect unless you opt to use quicksaves instead.
Enemy hitboxes have infinite verticality, meaning you can’t shoot through/past their corpses. Particularly annoying when dealing with small hordes of skeletons.
I don't like reviewing games I haven't actually beaten, but after powering through four or five gruelling levels over the course of 90 minutes, I could no longer continue due to a locked door without a trigger to open it. I was able to glitch my way out of the map and walk to the end where a stage transition occurred, however I fell through the world instantly. I tried quicksaving and reloading to try and get around this, but it just ended up hardlocking my game, and I'm sure as ♥♥♥♥ not playing through the whole thing again. I’m honestly surprised I was able to play for so long without encountering a game-breaking bug like this. I’m also suspicious this game contains some kind of malware as alt-tabbing the program while open revealed a mysterious Linux button in the file explorer. It may have been unrelated, but I’m not entirely sure. Overall, this game actually felt like it was draining my life-force.
