Imperfect Garden is an action-packed boss rush with two levels, each culminating in a unique boss that tests your reflexes. You control a one-armed youth in a desolate world, fighting powerful Perpetuos—proving that determination can triumph over adversity.

About
Immerse yourself in a world that was once full of life and color, but now holds only remnants of what it used to be. Gardens that once boasted vibrant flowers and singing fountains now lie dry and covered in dust. Temples that were once majestic stand broken and half-entombed by withered vines. The wind sighs through the ruins, carrying a strange silence, as if time itself has stopped.
Across this landscape walks a nameless youth. As a child, he lost his right arm in an accident he can no longer recall clearly. Despite the pain of his prosthetic, he carries his sword with unwavering resolve.
The sky above him is forever painted in shades of orange and gray, like an endless sunset. Here dwell the Perpetuos, ancient beings wielding a dark power that relentlessly expands the desert. It is said that whenever one of them awakens, the land around them withers a little more. The youth knows that if they are left unchecked, soon nothing living will remain in this place.
Your character’s skills are essential for surviving in this hostile world:
Attack (Red): Deliver a frontal slash with your sword, engaging enemies head-on.
Dash (Blue): Execute a swift forward movement, letting you dodge enemy strikes and reposition strategically.
Parry (Yellow): Block and counterattack at the precise moment, using your sword to deflect blows and create openings.
Crossbow (Green): Draw a crossbow to strike from afar, temporarily swapping your sword for a ranged weapon.
To defeat each boss, you’ll need to blend your skills with cunning and perfect timing. Watch their tells closely: a slight recoil before a sweeping strike, a flicker of light before an energy blast, or a subtle trembling in their limbs—all signal the perfect moment to strike.
Good luck, warrior, and may your determination shine beyond the darkness!

Imperfect Garden is a really stylish little boss rush that I enjoyed mainly because it puts almost all of its attention on precise combat. I play as a nameless young warrior with a prosthetic arm, travelling through a ruined world where ancient beings called Perpetuos are slowly turning the land into a lifeless desert. I liked the dark fantasy setting straight away, especially the contrast between the once beautiful gardens and the dry, broken ruins I am fighting through. The combat is built around four simple abilities, but getting the timing right is what makes them work. I can slash with my sword, dash to avoid attacks, parry incoming strikes and switch to a crossbow for ranged damage. I really enjoyed learning to read enemy tells and reacting at the right moment. When I successfully parry an attack and immediately punish the opening, the combat feels much more satisfying than the simple controls might suggest. The boss focused structure also works surprisingly well for me. Instead of padding the game with large amounts of exploration, it puts the emphasis on learning patterns and improving my reactions. The bosses have clear visual tells before certain attacks, so paying attention actually matters. I liked that the challenge comes from understanding what the boss is about to do rather than simply overwhelming it with attacks. The atmosphere is probably my favorite part of the presentation. The orange and gray sky, withered vegetation and ruined temples create a world that feels like it has already lost something important. The pixel art gives everything a distinctive look, while the quiet environments make the boss encounters stand out even more. I also think the story behind the protagonist losing his arm adds a little mystery without needing to overwhelm the game with exposition. My biggest issue is the amount of content. Imperfect Garden is very focused, with only a small selection of stages and bosses, so I reached the end just as I was getting comfortable with its combat. I would have loved to see more enemy patterns, more environments and additional abilities that could build on the foundation already here. The game feels more like a polished short project than a huge action adventure, which is fine, but it definitely left me wanting more. I also think the combat could have benefited from a little more progression. The four core actions are satisfying, but because the game stays so focused, there is not much opportunity for me to develop a unique play style beyond getting better at timing them. That makes the experience easy to understand, but it also means the replay value depends heavily on whether I enjoy mastering the boss fights. Overall, Imperfect Garden is a compact and enjoyable action game with a strong visual identity and surprisingly satisfying parry focused combat. I liked learning enemy patterns, mixing melee and ranged attacks and exploring its bleak ruined world. It is definitely too short and could use more variety, but the core combat is good enough that I came away wishing there was a much larger version of this idea. Rating: 6.7/10
