About
Welcome to the Mainframe
Idle Protocol is a minimalist sci-fi tower defense / idle incremental game where tactical loadouts and economy management meet raw, exponential firepower. Set in a dark, neon-lit digital void, your goal is simple: manage a central CPU core and defend against an endless swarm of geometric anomalies.
Dual-Core Tactical Combat
Forget building complicated mazes. In Idle Protocol, you equip exactly 2 active Nodes (Towers) to face the swarm. Choose from 5 distinct weapons, including:
Kernel: A balanced central core that focuses on consistent damage and devastating critical strikes.
Surge: A high-fire rate node that unleashes devastating Chain Lightning.
Solaris: A heavy sniper that applies intense Thermal/Burn damage.
Trojan: A viral node that applies Damage over Time through Malware.
Cluster: An unstable containment unit focusing on Explosion/AoE damage.
Deep Meta-ProgressionHit an economic wall? Perform a System Reboot to prestige and earn Cycles. Spend your Cycles in the BIOS—a massive Hexagonal Grid Layout skill tree—to unlock game-changing Ultimate abilities like "Infinite Loop" or "Supernova". Defeating Bosses also grants Upgrade Points (Chips) for the Circuit tab to further optimize your build.
The True End Game: Quarantine Protocols
This isn't just an endless grind. Reach Wave 500 to unlock the true endgame: Quarantine Protocols. Initiate a run with up to 5 brutal modifiers—like the No-Click Protocol or Monocore restrictions—to prove your architectural mastery and unlock exclusive Alternate Skins for your nodes.
Minimalist Aesthetics: High contrast neon graphics with Bloom and subtle CRT/Scanlines effects.
Respects Your Time: Fast-paced fixed wave spawns and Offline Progress that grants 50% of normal earnings while the game is closed.
Dynamic Scaling: Watch your damage output skyrocket into the Trillions as projectiles dynamically grow in size and sound heavier based on their level.
Built-in Achievements: Track your progress with 50 unique milestones and an integrated Stats Tracking System.

Reviews
Idle & Incremental Lovers doesn't recomment Idle Protocol : Click click wait, click click wait... zzzzz... Oh, time to prestige... Click click wait... Rinse and repeat, with always the same weapon upgrade. Oh, and pixel art looks like it was made in MS Paint. + Three different layers of progression (1 in-run, 2 permanent) + You can gain money when the game is closed. + There is a definite end, and a real endgame with modifiers. - One of the main problems is that you constantly have to babysit the game, since the money gains are exponential and you really have to click on the same "improve weapon" button every few minutes. - For the same reason, gaining money offline only leads to small progress. - You have 5 weapon types and you can choose 2 of them for your run. It doesn't favor experimentation at all: since your prestige points are precious, you wanna focus on one weapon. - Even if you can have 2 weapons, you just wanna improve one during a run since the other one is so weak. - The quarantine (endgame) mechanic with modifiers is just as boring as the rest of the game, sadly. - Pixel "art" is not art, it looks really amateur. *What do you call an invisible protocol droid? I don't know what people are fussing about in the negative reviews. It is a clicker game. You click a lot, because that is what you are supposed to do. When you want to farm resources, you just leave it idle. It is a very straightforward minimalist tower defense and incremental experience for when I just want something simple and casual. However, I do want to mention that the save game feature doesn't work properly right now. When you leave the game randomly or click manual save, even when it clearly shows the cloud saving icon, it won't actually save your progression. Once you reopen the game, you will return to level 1 again. Thankfully, the points you accumulate will remain, so it isn't a total loss, but it is definitely an annoying glitch. On a positive note, the developer is incredibly responsive. I was mentioning these bugs in the discussion forum, and within minutes, the developer was able to find the issue almost immediately. Consider this a mixed review, since the platform only lets you choose recommend or not recommend. I gave it a recommend knowing the developer is very active and actively working on resolving issues.
Saved the game, exited the game. Opened the game the next day, my save file is gone. other than that I didn't have much fun at all with that game.
