Picked this up on a whim and ended up really enjoying it Short, memorable, and absolutely worth your time.
short and sweet experiance, theres a sort of bitter-sweet after taste let by this game in the most beautiful way possible, also there a achivement for talking to a bird, that a win in my book.
Я... умер
A great look and feel for one to think about. Definetly worth the time.
I liked this a lot. Love when people go out on a limb and say things that normally aren't said with the intention to connect with people in ways that aren't normally attempted. Really hard to do in a one-directional medium like this but it works here. It's really cool
Beautiful visual novel. Really gets you thinking.
I loved this. Short, (bitter)sweet, and with the sort of thoughtful writing that stays with you long after you've finished it. A beautiful and reflective little work that I was genuinley moved by. Well worth your time.
A short, linear visual novel. At first it seems to be about finding out how and why you died, not unlike in Ghost Trick, but soon it gets more philosophical, talking about things like positive and negative thinking. There are no real dialogues, all text is the main character's thoughts. I wish the self-deprecation was more subtle, because when every sentence is criticism, at some point it starts to sound like satire. But well, it's interesting enough, story-wise. Visuals and audio, on the other hand, are atmospheric and remind me of another short visual novel called "Ko ima ni ari". That one is free on Steam, so check it out, if you liked I Have Died.
Objectively:
7.5/10
A short, thoughtful journey that is equal parts dark and reassuring. The real media helps to create a sense of reality as the wistful music and introspective dialogue slowly pulls you away from it, with the outcome creating a hazy liminal space I don't often expereince in games. An enjoyably bite sized dose of self relfection that reminds me of a slow Sunday afternoon.
Really beautiful game, there's really nothing out there that does it quite like I Have Died, visually, mechanically or thematically.
