An absolute masterpiece. 🥬 I expected a short indie project, but ended up completely absorbed for over 4 hours. The transition from a mundane cafe visit into a multi-dimensional conflict with Monster Girls and armed agents is brilliantly executed. The branching narrative gives genuine weight to every choice across six distinct endings. Visually, the character designs are stunning, and the high-quality voice acting easily puts many big-budget games to shame. A true hidden gem. 10/10. Highly recommended.
Not bad game

It's short, chaotic, and messy in all the right ways—but also in some frustrating ones. The story is genuinely interesting (like, legitimately good sci-fi short story material), the branching is satisfying, and the Russian voice acting is a refreshing change of pace. But the adult content is underwhelming, the pacing can feel like a series of punchy episodes instead of a smooth arc, and the whole experience is over before you've really settled in. At its price point (priced like a short story, which it is), it's worthwhile—just don't expect depth or lasting impact. What Works (And There's a Lot) The story is the star here. A drink that "reboots" reality while you're being chased by people who want you dead and creatures who want you for reasons that aren't purely hostile? That's a hook. The game leans into the chaos beautifully. Every time a scenario starts to feel familiar, the reboot gimmick flips the table and drops you into a new set of rules, new dangers, or a new social dynamic. It keeps you off-balance in a way that feels intentional and fun. The choice system is classic Choose-Your-Own-Adventure done right. Almost every early decision leads to a genuinely different branch, and there's real incentive to restart from scratch and make completely different choices. Some endings are genuinely obscure—you'll have to work for them (or consult a Russian guide). The game rewards commitment to a direction: survival, curiosity, trust, or temptation each lead to different scenes and relationships. The cast is distinct. They lean hard into contrast—cute but threatening, helpful but suspicious, playful but predatory. It's more "high-concept chase romance" than deep character study, but you'll quickly latch onto favorites and distrust others. The Russian voice acting is a nice change if you're tired of Japanese/Taiwanese/Chinese VNs. The atmosphere, the weird little details, the stylish fever-dream quality—it all keeps you hooked. What Doesn't Work (Why It's a 7, Not Higher) Let's be honest: the game is short. Each individual ending takes no time at all, and even collecting all branches, you're looking at maybe a couple hours total. That's fine for the price (it's priced like a short story), but don't go in expecting a 20-hour epic. The adult content is a genuine letdown. The free 18+ DLC adds scenes, but they're basic—the animations aren't nearly as detailed as the still images. Honestly, the game works perfectly fine without the DLC. If you're coming here primarily for H-content, look elsewhere. This is a sci-fi mystery VN first, an adult game a distant second. The tone is divisive. It mixes danger, flirtation, and comedy with zero subtlety. If you enjoy pulpy, genre-blending chaos, you'll have a blast. If you want slow-burn realism or a calm, coherent, heavily explained story, the frantic energy will wear you out. The narrative can feel like a series of punchy episodes rather than one smooth arc—fun in the moment, but it doesn't linger in your mind the way a more cohesive story would. The Verdict I Drink Sorrel Coffee to Reboot Reality is a solid 7/10—a niche VN that knows exactly what it is and does it reasonably well. The story is the best reason to play: it's interesting, mysterious, and genuinely compelling in a way that most short-form adult VNs don't bother with. The branching is satisfying, the replay value is real (even if the total runtime is short), and the atmosphere is a stylish fever dream. But the adult content is basic, the length is brief, and the frantic pace isn't for everyone. You're not getting a deep, sprawling visual novel. You're getting a weird, fun, two-hour ride that will leave you asking "what's the deal with that sorrel coffee?" and then moving on with your life. Worth it if: You like clever sci-fi premises, classic CYOA branching, and don't mind short experiences. Absolutely grab it on sale. Skip if: You want substantial adult content, a long campaign, or a calm, slow-burn narrative. Curator: Blind Argus Group
