I paid more artists to hide unicorns and wands in 15 pieces of artwork. Can you find them all? Warning: Relaxing.

Occasionally I pick up one game from the I commissioned some... series and since most are related to bees I am keen on finding something else. This time I decided to purchase the one with unicorns.... and magic wands (that are not included in the title for some reason). The concept remains the same: there are a lot of objects you can find. These are very close to one another and each artwork is full of them (really, no empty section) so most are very easy to find. For the rest you have the hint function that does not come with any penalties. This feature only uses on arrow to tell you the direction instead of actually showing you where the object in question is. If you want, you can reset levels, in fact, you can start a new save slot. But what is there as novelty if I'm already familiar with the series? Well, the unicorns look nice and they appear in different positions. Especially the last level has some great artwork where each horse blends in well. For some reason the wands sometimes are without a star. This is fine as a stick can still be considered a magic wand just don't be surprised that some levels opted for this version. Fun little HOG! On par with the rest in the series. Recommended!
Passable entry from this developer. Honestly, bearing in mind the price tag and the popularity of these games, I was left quite disappointed regarding the artwork. Definitely could have been a lot more and better, clearer images for the unicorn theme. Together with unicorns, you are hunting wands ... and in at least a couple of scenes, this is "artistically" changed to just a "bar" or "handle" (no star). As par of the course, some images are partly, at times even Mostly, obscured and it definitely takes artistic license a little too far to determine that a particular blob of colour is actually part of a unicorn. Unfortunately this has become commonplace with this developer's offerings. Thankfully there is the handy hint button to save your sanity, however, even using the Hint button, I still found myself just pixel clicking a couple of times. On a positive note, the sound effects were quite satisfying whilst clicking the objects and the little horse "Nayy" was cute. The music was also quite good and relaxing which I personally like. Recommended only if you have played all the other offerings in this genre and for achievement hunters.
Note: A copy of the game was given by a wonderful friend. ^^
Combining the magical with the modern. XD

Introduction
I commissioned some unicorns is a cozy, relaxing hidden object game developed by Follow the fun and published by I commissioned some series. You're given a series of 15 artwork pieces, and you have to find a set number of unicorns and star wands. No timer is present, so you can play the game at your own pace, and an unlimited number of hints are available, so you can use them if you get stuck on finding those elusive unicorns or wands. The usual gameplay controls are present. Scrolling the mouse wheel zooms the artwork in and out. You can drag the scene with the mouse and click on objects with the left mouse button. Several Steam achievements are present, but they won't count towards a user's global total until the game is out of "profile features limited".
Review
The games in the I commissioned some series have kind of become my relaxing, comfort games when I'm in the mood to play something that's laidback and stress-free. Feeling in that mood, I wanted to get around to this game, and thanks to a wonderful friend, I have this game in my library, so I definitely would get around to it. ^^ As usual, no story is present, but for those who are familiar with the series, that's par for the course. It's really the gameplay that takes the main stage here. The gameplay is fun as always, and it's pretty easy to find all the unicorns and wands. The zoom and hint functions help in that regard. Especially if you're a veteran of HOGs, you'll only need to spend a few minutes (at most) on each artwork piece to find all the objects. All Steam achievements are obtainable, and it took me less than an hour to 100% complete the game. With the art, it is gorgeous as always. I love the hand-drawn style that's ever present. The unicorns and wands may appear a bit small at times, but that's what the zoom function is for. The colors are chosen very well for the appropriate artwork pieces for the most part. I'd say that there's only one artwork piece in which I felt that the colors were a bit too dark, but that's a very minor issue. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3639735058 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3639735202 In regards to the music, the tracks are great to listen to. They have that relaxing, lo-fi vibe going on, and they're the perfect accompaniment as you're playing through the various artwork pieces and finding all those unicorns and wands.
Conclusion
Would I recommend I commissioned some unicorns? If you're looking for a short, relaxing hidden object game that you can play at your own pace, you like fantasy creatures, and/or you enjoy getting all those Steam achievements, then it's worth checking out. At the asking price, it might be a bit steep for the amount of gameplay that you could get out of it, especially if you're very good at HOGs. However, on a sale, it's very much worth checking out. I only wish that there were more unicorn-themed games since this is currently the only one in the I commissioned some series. Paz mental.
Definitely one of my favorites! Although the horse sounds are kind of annoying, with a lowering of the volume, you will have a wonderful and relaxing experience with this game! I recorded my gameplay in parts! I just can't wait for tomorrow to upload my very first videos and very first collection (15 parts as 15 levels)! PROS: - Wonderful artwork; - Cute unicorns! - Varied levels of difficulty; - I don't know how was the music like, since I was recording, but I think it is relaxing and positive as the others in the series! - Easy to learn mechanics; - Minimalistic main menu and option settings. CONS: - Horse sounds, if repeated, can annoy the player; - None else. I recommend this game to every Hidden Object lover. And if you like unicorns, or cats, or bats, or bees, or dogs, or mice and galleries of great artworks, then these are the games for you! Watch out, HO lover, do you have what it takes to complete this game?

PROS: + plenty of charming art styles + really nice music + great on the Steam Deck CONS: - localisation doesn't work - profile visibility is restricted for this game - somewhat easy/short(?) Comment: The first unicorn game in the I commissioned some X series. Unicorns were nicely visible for the most part. Then the bonus search this time are magic wands and they are fine in the normal version. Then in some pictures they are folded(?) so they just look like sticks or cigarettes. Odd choice. Soundtrack is chill, and even though it is not as good as the I commissioned some snails one, I still rank it as one of the better ones in the series. A cool entry that took over an hour on the Steam Deck to complete. Would be even faster with mouse and keyboard. So you might want to pick it up on sale. It is also available in bundles but those offer no actual discount for whatever reason.
