Hyper flight is a spaceship racing game settled in various planets ( Titan, Orcus, Mars, Venus, Trtion)
MODALITIES
Opening the game, you will find a screen with different modalities to choose:

Solar System: You can race in 5 different planets (one still in developing) with different environmental and weather conditions.
Training: Before make a proper race, you need to get the driver license (yeah like in old gran turismo games) in 3 different groups: License P, A and R1.
Free flight: Choosing the planet, you can do whatever you want in your spaceship.
Race: After had completed the training and got the driver license, you will be able to start your career, racing against others.
Time trials: Just a race against the time. You can improve your time to get the Gold medal in that specific circuit.

DRIVING
In all honestly, at the beginning of the training, the driving with a controller was very hard. The spaceship wasn’t sensitive and you could easily destroy it in a rock. After some training, I learned how it behaves in every condition and I’m able to win a race but you need to have patience. So if at the beginning of the game you had that feeling, it’s common. I highly recommend to play the game with a controller, with the keyboard could be harder.
RACE
Generally, we have 2 type of races that depend in which planet we are: -Race through rocks: This one in my opinion is the best and hardest. You need to go through circle checkpoints, with near walls of rock. One mistake and you need to restart the race. -Race in open air: I found them a little boring, you just need to avoid dynamic obstacles and use turbo. Still go through circle checkpoints but this time if you make a mistake you can easily keep the lead of the race. The AI is very hard to battle in upper classes, it’s very rare that they commit a mistake or damage theirselves. You need to do your best time lap and don’t touch anything to avoid any sort of damage that will lead you to fall into the darkness.
DAMAGES
The damage is really well made, the spaceship will lose pieces of it, in the part you touched with, but it has a little problem: It’s unfair. If you are racing normally and an enemy touch you, you have an higher chance to be irredeemably damaged, losing the control of it. While your opponent will finish safely the race. So during the race you need to make your best lap, avoid walls and enemy at all, like the plague.
SOUND
The music inside the game is available only during the races while not sound in the menu screen. Seems a little too silent, I can suggest to add it there too. Regarding the musics on races, they aren’t bad, Retrowave style. There isn’t an huge selection, but they could be added easily.
POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENTS
In my opinion, the game has a great potential in terms of contents, but some little things could be improved or added to make a better game experience.

Spaceship statistics: In the menu to choose the vehicle for the race, you don’t have any sort of statistic about handling, max speed, acceleration ect the to make the best choice. To find out the best one for your driving style, you need to try each spaceship in a free flight session.
HUB: During the races i don’t have any type of info about the lap. It should be a great add the number of lap, current lap, current position and numbers of opponents inside the race.
Controls: The possibility to change them, so every driver can use the buttons more comfortable for him. This option will permit to use LB/RB buttons on Xbox controller, in a better way for some primary movements and finish the lap faster.

CONCLUSION
Hyper Flight is made by only 1 developer, I talked directly to him regarding some bugs and he immediately tried to solve them. This indicate that he cares about this game and trying the best to make it works. Keeping the work on this game with more planets, spaceships and weather conditions could become an indie gem. I hope the best for the future of the game. The game actually costs 4 euros and it worths buying it with when it will be in sale. You can just use it in split screen with a friend, to seeing him crashing the spaceship in pieces :D
A review copy was provided by the developer thanks to the group Reviewers Paradise . I have been pleasantly surprised by this little game, yes it still needs a bit of polishing and tweaking but I am really enjoying flying around the very nice landscapes. It seemed very hard to control at first but I was whizzing around in no time. The racing part is fun but mega hard and very unforgiving at the moment, that part maybe needs tweaking or maybe I`m just very rubbish at it...but yes I am very happy I bought it and hope to see it progress... don't give up on it dev it can become even greater.
