literally the worst 2d game i have ever played
A nice looking game that would be fun to play if the controls and hitboxes were not terrible.
Hunter Girls is a "template" flip. The "developer" filled out a basic template in the craptastic NW.js (possibly Construct) (a blight on gaming), changed the name/reskinned a couple of things, and put it on Steam as if it was their own game. It's a basic, lame endless runner template this time, with crappy asset flipped backgrounds and sprites. Pure garbage in terms of actually being a game. Flappy Birds is more sophisticated. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
Warning: Review Manipulation!
This game features a surprisingly large number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product. Hunter Girls has a laughable, eye watering price of $10 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games, let alone the sheer number of free games available on Steam. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ ☑️Good pixel artstyle. ❌Controls are janky. ❌Music will drive you crazy after each restart. ❌No level select. ❌Dialog is very poorly displayed as walls of text. It's challenging strategy that is ruined by the game play controls of Flappy Bird / Getting Over it with Bennett Foddy. It's infuriating. The art showcase for each 2 levels completed are overly sexual, with the girls or things around them looking "suspiciously" like things are happening.
Recommendation: a tough but fair endless runner that requires excellent timing and careful resource management. Critique: Hunter Girls is a bare-bones endless runner, but there is some fun underneath its very rough surface. The game consists of garbled text laid over simple monochromatic line drawings that provide (a little bit of) context for what is happening, which are then followed by multiple "levels" of endless running, where you have to simply NOT DIE. I put "levels" in quotation marks because the transition from one level to the next is very abrupt: one moment you are running, jumping from platform to platform, and the next the screen redraws with a new environment and you are immediately running, but your expendable resources have refreshed. There's no sound or graphical acknowledgment that you have completed a level, you're just instantly in a new level (which often looks nearly identical to the one you've just run). The controls are pretty simple: you press spacebar to jump, and "c" to use your shield...which for some reason can only be used three times. This is just the first of the many expendable resources you have; once you complete a few levels, you are greeted by another paragraph of garbled text over a line drawing, and suddenly you have a follower character with a bow, who will loose an arrow when you press "x." The game gets more difficult, because you control when the first character (the one with a shield) jumps by pressing SPACE, but then the follower jumps immediately after. Because they are running, she jumps at NEARLY the same place that the first character jumps...but it's still slightly behind. So you have to time your jumps so that both characters can start and finish their jumps successfully. In addition, the supply of arrows is SO SMALL that you have to save your arrows for when they are absolutely needed, not just shoot every enemy. The jumping is challenging but fair. What I found really difficult is the employing the shield and the other expendables. I'd often use everything up, and then have no way of withstanding another attack from a monster because I couldn't defeat it or withstand its attacks. So this resulted in a LOT of replaying levels. I would be more OK with this if there was a death or failure animation to give the end punctuation. But there is nothing to show you what happened that caused you to fail: no death animation, no freeze-frame, nothing. Instead, you instantly get a pop-up screen that blocks your view of the level that gives you a choice of (R)etrying it or (ESC)aping to the main menu. I find that lack of punctuation really exhausting, and it disinclines me from playing more than a few minutes at a sitting...even though repetition is the only way to get better/complete the levels. The music in the game is enjoyable (though it becomes a bit tiresome because you hear it over and over and over again as you replay levels), but there are almost NO SOUND EFFECTS. You get a -swish- from loosing an arrow, but there's no jump or landing sound, no sound of running, no -thwock- sound as missiles hit the shield, and no attack or death sounds for the enemies. The graphics of the levels are fun and well-done, though it feels like there are too many levels to complete in each "world," so you see a LOT of the same backgrounds as you replay the levels again and again. For all its shortcomings, the base gameplay of careful jumping and split-second use of expendable resources is very fun. If you can stand repeating a level many times in order to learn how to complete it, you'll enjoy this game.

Nice art and graphics, good music, but it is very annoying when on each try it starts from the beginning (this is really demotivating). Difficulty is really insane and controls aren't responsive for such crazy difficulty. Also cannot change controls, at the moment the game is a good way to break the spacebar button on your keyboard. This is strange, but sometimes have some fps drop why? The graphics is so lightweight. Generally from artistic side game is perfect, but has still a lot of technical flaws. If in future some adjustments will be done, of course I will come back here. But at the moment refund, sorry.
