A Promising Concept with Room for Improvement - Hospital Tycoon Review Rating: ★★★☆☆ Hospital Tycoon is a simulation game that puts players in the shoes of a hospital administrator, tasking them with managing and expanding a medical facility. While the game offers an intriguing premise and some enjoyable gameplay elements, it falls short in certain areas, leaving room for improvement. One of the strengths of Hospital Tycoon lies in its charming and humorous art style. The cartoonish visuals bring a lighthearted touch to the often serious theme of running a hospital. The character designs are quirky and distinctive, adding a sense of personality to the game. The gameplay revolves around constructing and customizing hospital buildings, hiring and managing staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of the facility. The game offers a decent variety of medical departments, each requiring specific equipment and skilled personnel. Balancing the budget, handling patient flow, and addressing emergencies add a layer of challenge and strategy to the experience. The patient AI and the day-to-day activities within the hospital, such as diagnosis and treatment, are adequately represented. Watching patients move through the facility and interact with staff members adds a sense of realism to the game. Additionally, the inclusion of mini-games during medical procedures adds a fun and interactive element to the gameplay. However, Hospital Tycoon does have its drawbacks. The game suffers from occasional bugs and performance issues that can disrupt the overall experience. Furthermore, the user interface can be clunky and unintuitive at times, making it challenging to manage the hospital efficiently. The game's tutorial, while helpful to beginners, could benefit from more in-depth explanations and guidance. Some aspects of the game, such as staff training and specialization, are not adequately explained, leaving players to figure them out through trial and error. Another notable drawback is the lack of depth in certain gameplay aspects. The progression and challenge curve could be more balanced, as the game tends to become repetitive after a while. The limited variety of medical conditions and treatments may leave players wanting more complexity and depth in the gameplay mechanics. Despite its flaws, Hospital Tycoon does offer an enjoyable experience for those seeking a lighthearted simulation game in the medical genre. With its charming visuals, humorous tone, and strategic gameplay elements, it can provide a few hours of entertainment. However, for players seeking a deeper and more polished hospital management experience, other titles in the genre may be more satisfying options.

So I played this for a bit. I got it in a Humble Bundle back in '15 and never realized I owned it. Tried it out and there's honestly not a lot to this game. Kinda repetitive and boring tbh. The controls are bad, which I expected and so are the graphics. Not sure how old the game is but I'd guess at least 15 years. It tries to be a Sims style game. But it's far from that. The game is a funny game. Such as the names of the treatments, machines, and illnesses. However; it's quite lacking in the game play features department. It's a very light weight game and you may get a night of entertainment from it. But honestly not much beyond that unless you're a total knob. It's not even a real strategy simulating. The game is constantly taking over control, yeah not fun. It's not for me. Heck, there are free mobile games that are less repetitive with more substance.
