Developed and published by L3O Interactive, Horizon is an ambitious turn-based 4X strategy game that invites players to guide humanity's expansion into the depths of space. Rather than focusing on rapid action, it emphasizes careful planning, exploration, and long-term decision-making as players establish colonies, research advanced technologies, negotiate with alien civilizations, and build military power capable of securing a place among the stars. The game's vision is impressive, presenting a sprawling science fiction sandbox where every decision contributes to the growth of an interstellar empire. Its blend of exploration, diplomacy, economics, and warfare creates an experience that appeals primarily to players who enjoy deep strategic gameplay and the satisfaction of building a civilization from humble beginnings into a dominant galactic force. Exploration serves as the heart of Horizon, encouraging players to venture into countless star systems filled with habitable planets, valuable resources, mysterious ruins, and long-forgotten relics. Every newly discovered world offers opportunities for expansion while introducing fresh strategic considerations regarding colonization, resource management, and defense. The presence of multiple alien races adds personality to the galaxy, with each civilization possessing its own political goals, technological strengths, and diplomatic behavior. Story-driven encounters involving ancient civilizations and hidden artifacts further enrich the experience by giving players meaningful discoveries beyond simple territorial expansion. These narrative elements help create a universe that feels alive, making exploration consistently rewarding throughout a lengthy campaign. Empire management is equally detailed, providing an extensive range of systems that work together to shape the player's civilization. Colonies can be developed according to different priorities, whether focusing on industrial production, scientific advancement, economic prosperity, or military strength. A substantial technology tree allows continuous progression through dozens of research disciplines, unlocking improved infrastructure, advanced spacecraft, stronger weapons, and increasingly sophisticated defensive systems. Ship construction is particularly satisfying thanks to its flexible customization options, enabling players to design fleets suited to their preferred combat strategies rather than relying solely on predefined unit types. Balancing research, production, expansion, and resource allocation becomes an engaging challenge that rewards careful planning and long-term thinking instead of short-term gains. Combat introduces another layer of strategic depth through tactical, turn-based battles that place fleet positioning and battlefield decisions directly in the player's hands. Instead of resolving conflicts through automated calculations, Horizon allows commanders to control movement, coordinate attacks, utilize specialized ship systems, and adapt their tactics as engagements unfold. This makes military victories feel earned through intelligent planning rather than numerical superiority alone. Outside of warfare, diplomacy offers meaningful alternatives by allowing alliances, trade agreements, negotiations, and political maneuvering with both human and alien factions. Players who prefer peaceful expansion can pursue economic and diplomatic dominance, while more aggressive leaders have the freedom to conquer rival civilizations through calculated military campaigns. Although Horizon offers remarkable depth, it also demands considerable patience. Its numerous interconnected mechanics create a steep learning curve that may initially overwhelm newcomers to the 4X genre. The interface occasionally feels dated and can require significant micromanagement as empires expand, making some routine tasks more cumbersome than necessary. The visuals, while perfectly functional, prioritize clarity over spectacle and lack the modern presentation seen in newer strategy titles. The artificial intelligence provides a respectable challenge for much of the game, though experienced players may eventually identify predictable patterns in diplomacy and military behavior. These shortcomings do not undermine the game's strengths, but they do require players to invest time before the full potential of its systems becomes apparent. Despite its age, Horizon remains an impressively comprehensive strategy game that succeeds through the sheer breadth of its mechanics and the freedom it offers players. Every campaign unfolds differently thanks to customizable galaxies, multiple civilizations, extensive technological paths, varied diplomatic situations, and flexible empire-building options. The combination of large-scale exploration, meaningful colony development, tactical fleet battles, and long-term strategic planning creates a rewarding experience for dedicated fans of classic space strategy games. Players seeking immediate accessibility may find its complexity intimidating, but those willing to master its systems will discover a richly detailed galactic adventure with exceptional replay value and countless strategic possibilities. Rating: 6/10

Ein Abklatsch von einem Klassiker.... Master of Orion neu aufgelegt.
I can't even figure out what this is!
jeu très prenant à l'univers graphique agréable et varié
The AI grows too powerful too easily
I played the hell out of this when it first came out. It's now uninstalled in favor of more recent things like Endless Space 2 and Stellaris.
Serio? Gra, którą kupiłam 8-9 lat temu w supermarkecie za 9,99 zł z kosza z promocjami, na Steam kosztuje 107,99zł? Parodia!!
