An explosive wave based shooter (shmups) with a real Retro feel to it. You can even play the game in Tate screen mode! "...if you have the itch for some old-school arcade blast-em-up fun, Horizon Shift '81 is a great way to feed that craving." - 8/10 - The Sixth Axis

Fun arcade shmup inspired by Atari games/ 80s arcade games. If you're wanting to pick up a high-score grindy game, this one's for you. Online leaderboards and everything. But not much else. Wait till it's on sale
Disclaimer: My scores/reviews are almost always based on having bought the game at close to the "lowest historical price" on steam at time of purchase. Quick score: 3/5 Things I disliked: Forced to hold fire button, even though there is seemingly no reason to ever not fire due to a lack of ammo conservation or accuracy mechanics. Would like to see an auto fire.
The game is good, but unfortunaly has many bugs/problems that make a final product unstable. The game is good and has a unique arcade idea. Space invaders mett jeff minter. The action is chaotic. But there are big problems, first there is not a imdeiate option to choose tate, and resolution. First time i played the screen was cut and could not see my ship. Then i read de forum discussion and found that we ad to press the shift key while running the game to enter a configuration mode, but unfortunaly the game does not say that and also does not give a option for that. After doing the configuration the screen worked right. But then there was another problem. I use a madcatz street fighter 4 joystick and the position of the buttons was bad, really bad. i entered the configuration mode and tryed to change the inputs, but then again i could not change the butons because my arcade stick could not be recognized. It´s unfortunate, because there is really a good game here benetah all this
Looks nice and classy, but hadn't fugure out yet, how to find the shooting button. :(
Un must have en toda regla.
Cool game with an interesting game mechanic. I really enjoyed my first few runs. The game has a nice array of power-ups and a few surprises that I didn't expect. For fans of retro arcade shooters! Check it out!
Please give me more stages!!!
