Honked: a clown noir

First: this is a short and sweet game jam game, but I think the store description is pretty clear about that and it's priced accordingly. If you finish and refund this game, you will never see the light of heaven. Honked: a clown noir is an absurdly charming little game. It oozes style and love and feels like a lost Double Fine title—a mix of Grim Fandango and something smaller like Costume Quest. The gameplay is basic: talking to fun characters, blowing balloons to please them, and simple platforming challenges. The art and presentation are excellent, and the fun comes from the joyful presentation of the character writing, the creative and stylish world, and the simple but effective story. I would *love* to see a version of this game that has more clownmeat on the bone, but there's also a simplicity and charm to everything happening that I think it would be important to not lose that simple and pure essence by having the game get bogged down in less-fun nonsense. I've found there is some replayability with the achievements and multiple endings, but you're unlikely to get more than a couple hours out of this game total, but they're all hours you'll have fun with. I was also experiencing a save issue, but that wasn't that big of a deal since you're probably playing in one sitting anyway. Still a bit of a bummer. The game works excellently on the Steam Deck! I recommend it wholeheartedly.
