About

Hunting the past of your ancestry you find yourself washed up on the lands of Solaria. You can feel the magic flowing through the land and the many creatures living alongside one another but there is a tear in the land, the creatures are at ends, there is distrust among the people, can an outsider heal the damage that was done many years ago and discover the secrets of the Solarian Islands.
Survive - Build - Thrive
(The below describes the planned versions of these features that are being worked towards, while in Early Access these features will exist in simpler forms and grow along the way.)
Survive
Landing astray you need to get your bearings. Farm, fish, cook and fight to survive in the wilderness of a magic land.
Your ancestors journal will come in handy but not everything in this land is edible be ready for wild magic, will the herbs let you fly or put you to sleep for the day? Better do your research.
Build
Build complex structures to attract companions to join you and your budding townships, with enough time you'll be able to grow prosperous towns all over Solarian that feed into one another. On the island of the Grave you could build a place of prayer, blessing your towns with the inspiration of the dead, or maybe you're a combatant who prefers to sacrifice demons at the Gravelands to earn your blessing.
Thrive
You've begun to heal the lands but surviving isn't enough, you can have a wood axe but without proper technique you can't craft a Master-grade tool, perfect your crafts and learn from the neighbours to evolve into the territory of thriving.
The islands of Solaria are waiting so get on the ship before it's too late.

Reviews
I'm currently doing a challenge to play through a free game in every single category on steam. I then give an honest review using ChatGPT.
Game: 52 / 447 Category: Pirates "Pirates? What Pirates?" This game has nothing to do with pirates—fix your tags! In fact, it barely has anything to do with anything. It’s an empty, unpolished mess, cobbled together with asset store models and zero effort. You can literally jump and punch your way into flying—because physics apparently walked the plank. There’s no content, no polish, and no reason to even give this a shot. The trailer makes it look like some grand adventure, but in reality, it’s just an empty shell of a game. Skip this one—it’s not even worth the curiosity download.
Warning: Asset Flip! "Homebound: New Beginnings" is one of literally thousands of creatively bankrupt asset flips infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere.
This is a laughably bad Unreal asset flip, the developer went on a shopping spree on the Unreal Marketplace and dumped a bunch of stock assets on an ARPG game blueprint, couldn't work out how to make any of it actually work properly, so dumped it into Early Access and walked away. A bizarre thing for anyone to do, but this happens a lot... people think they can somehow magically become game developers thanks to asset stores, discover they can't, and publish the crap anyway. Steam Direct is a disaster. So, "Homebound: New Beginnings" is partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Little, if anything in this game is the creation of the "developer". While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "Homebound: New Beginnings", and this kind of asset flipping never results in games that have quality or value for PC gamers. The developers abandoned this 10 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. It's free for now, but the developer intends to charge for this if it ever leaves Early Access through DLC or MTX... but considering the poor public reception, it's likely this will not be one of the 25% of games that ever gets finished and leaves Early Access. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 4 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. There's no up front cost here, but I still feel like I should be asking for my money back, and I didn't even spend any. That's how bad this is.
This game is so god awful that's it actually good. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who wants to goof off with some friends for about 30 minutes. Tip: press B and then click of the ? box to exit a lot of the menus
game is bugy game macks me sleepy hard to control the game needs a lot of fixing i will be delting game sorrey
Beaucoup d'actions très bizarres, ça semble être un mic-mac d'assets foutus ensemble ? Ça reste gratuit certes, mais rajoutez à ça une consommation exceptionnelle côté CPU for some reasons ?

Feedback and Suggestions for Improvement: For now, these suggestions are based on my personal experience with the game — I haven’t explored everything yet, so there may be more to come. The game has real potential, but several aspects could be improved to enhance the overall experience: Core mechanics: Running, jumping, and collisions with floating rocks need refinement. Combat: The guard system used to attack opponents could be better balanced. Navigation: The boat scrapes against cliffs, which disrupts movement. Map design: The path between the house and the village should be redesigned — replacing rocks with stairs would make it more intuitive. Teleportation: After killing the skeleton and returning to the starting point, teleportation no longer works, making it impossible to go back and collect the chest. Saving: A reliable save system is essential. I lost my progress even though I had saved earlier, and when I returned to the game, my save was gone. 🕹️ Controls and Interaction Consistency: It would be great to unify certain actions under common keys. For example: Using the same key (like Esc) to exit menus, cancel interactions, or return to the previous screen. Having a consistent key to interact with objects, such as opening a book and then pressing the same key to close it or return. This kind of consistency makes the gameplay smoother and more intuitive. 💰 Monetization Suggestion: To help you continue developing the game and live from your passion, consider introducing a balanced monetization system — for example, offering some items for free and others as paid content. This way, players can support your work while still enjoying the game, and you can generate income to keep improving it.
