About
You're the commander of Starship HEXA, the head of a space fleet dead-set on taking over the universe. You're well on your way to assuming control of everything that is and shall be, but your attack methods are a bit... unorthodox. We can't dwell on it for too long, though, so get out there and match those hexagons!

HEXA is a unique, quick to pick up, and super fun logic puzzle game based on everybody’s favorite polygon. It's a very simple game to pickup, but definitely not to master. Great vibes and a bangin soundtrack!
This genuinely might be one of the best puzzle games ever made? I'm not kidding. I've played this game for 100s of hours on the Playdate (where it first released). It's got an amazing sense of skill progression similar to Tetris, where the more time you put in, the higher score you can reach. You can even outrun the timer if you're fast enough (IDK who that would be though ;)) If you like Tetris or any other fast-paced puzzle games, PLEASE give this a try. It's so good.
hell yes. this game was super cool on Playdate, and now it's in color!!! it plays almost like a 2D rubik's cube, and theres a bunch of side missions if arcade games aren't your thing! i am unbelievably bad at this game
It’s like a Tetris Rubik’ Cube with hexagons. Simple on the surface but very complex to master. I love this game even when it hurts my brain. [strike]please please please add a way to disable screen shake in the last 10 seconds. The 10 second timer often lasts more than that and it becomes very distracting.[/strike]
very cute and fun! easy to learn and grasp with but takes surprisingly quite a lot to figure out the scoring here. it's really good
very very fun puzzle game with a load of visual sauce. hexagons are the bestagons. played both on a mac and a steam deck with no issues
i close my eyes and i see nothing but hexas...
Addictive burst of arcade goodness that’s fun to pick up and play for about 15 minutes at a time maybe. I keep returning to this game trying to beat my high score and hopefully get back on the front page of the top scores someday.
This game turned hexagons into my new favorite shape (RIP squares)! HEXA is a neat score attack puzzler where you move a hexagonal cursor around your board to rotate colored triangles and form hexagons (dubed "HEXAs") out of them. This scores you some points, and clears said triangles and replaces them with new ones, and you're mainly tasked with creating as many HEXAs as you can before time runs out. Thankfully, creating HEXAs grants you more time, but the amount of time replenished diminishes over time, so you'll have to be more efficient over time to survive! Amidst the HEXA-creating, you'll also run into triangles with powerups on them, like Wilds (count as any color), Bombs (blow up all pieces on the board and refill it with new ones after creating a hex with it), and 2x Multipliers (score double points after creating a hex with it)! It's a simple premise, but there's plenty of room for optimization to try and score as much as you can! For starters, you'll have to get the hang of making HEXAs in the least amount of moves possible so you can save time. Next is potentially prioritizing higher-scoring colors over lower-scoring ones, as each of the three colors of triangles have their own point values. And lastly is making good use of the powerups, or in the case of Bombs, trying to utilize any high-scoring colors or 2x's/Wilds without accidentally bombing them away! And don't get me started on HEXA chains (if you happen to have a HEXA get formed immediately after creating one, you get more points; Seems like it just happens randomly, but I could imagine some setups to help it occur more often)... That's the main gist of Arcade mode, though there's other styles of play as well! Mission mode will have you tackle certain objectives, from clearing certain tiles as quickly or in as little moves as possible, to rearranging your board to recreate a certain image (HEXA clears are disabled in this mode). (You can also create your own missions!) Chill mode is exactly what it sounds like: Creating HEXAs with no time pressure! Daily mode puts you up against the seed of the day for one Arcade mode run on it, and then your score gets logged for that day. Upon playing this for the first time, I enjoyed naturally learning certain techniques to help manipulate triangles into HEXAs or make finishing touches on Picture missions without disrupting the rest of the board! Feels very akin to Rubik's Cubes and other twisty puzzles, which I'm a fan of! And on that note, if you too are a twisty puzzle fanatic, or you enjoy sort-em-up puzzlers like Dialhex, Crossniq+ and Yoshi's Cookie, go ahead and take HEXA for a spin!
