HEROish

A good game that translates fairly well from mobile. I have played through 2/3 of the first single-player campaign, and have largely gotten the hang of its mechanics. It's satisfying to gradually build up an army and steamroll through enemies, now that I have a synergy among the cards in my deck. Once you get a rhythm going it's pretty fun to grind through missions, with an emphasis on clearing out enemies on different sections of the map. During one session I sat down with the intent of playing for around 20 minutes, and then was surprised to realize that I had been playing for over an hour. The game so far is not super difficult, with some exceptions in the beginning as I figured out controls and mechanics. With just a couple of hours I was able to get a little over-leveled, but that was with me deciding to clear out every single enemy encounter I saw before I pursued the main missions in that area. The character interactions in cutscenes are cute and sometimes got a smirk out of me, and there is a light-hearted plot, but I did not find myself engaged in the stakes that were presented. I was only interested in getting back into the gameplay, which I believe is the strength of Heroish.
