Pretty good game that expands upon the original Super Hexagon concept, but the inversion settings are not very well implemented. The controls will invert after the actual 3d change has taken place, causing you to die if you were already moving towards one of the openings in the walls, which is extremely frustrating.
A great spiritual cousin to Super Hexagon and Open Hexagon. Do not think you will be comfortable 100%ing this game because you've completed both aforementioned titles, this one comes with a twist! You better get your brain ready, because HEPTAGON will love to mess with controls - by inverting them, to be more precise. If that wasn't enough, you will also have to deal with a new POV, locking you in a tunnel vision where you have to avoid patterns coming directly in front of you. This game has its flaws and it does oppose a few bugs here and there, but my experience with it is still far more positive than negative.

Take Super Hexagon, add two gimmicks that sometimes don't break, make a gauntlet of all the stages in a row, and also false-advertise it as being about heptagons, and you get the recipe for a game that had divine intervention to be functional. Jokes aside, it is a fun time, but if you come from Super/Open Hexagon, do not think you can rawdog this game. It will smack your ass then throw a brick at you constantly. Even when you think you're getting used to it, no you're not. Unless your name is Maniac. Ignoring a couple bugs and a general lack of playtesting it's a good challenge if you've completed SH/OH, and expands on the idea a lot in creative and fun ways. PS: you will need the use of SAM if you want to get all achievements visible on Steam eventually, because the achievements for that game are also broken. Truly, the pinnacle of Hexagon-like content.
If you come from either super hexagon or open hexagon and want another hexagon-like game to challenge yourself, you might want to reconsider this one as I cannot recommend this game to anyone who's a fan of this genre of games with a straight face. This game comes with many problems, the most notorious and frequent one being the terrible transition in and out of the "inside" mode. Most of the time the game will just put you infront of a pattern without any time to process what just happened because the transition renders you practically blind to any incoming patterns, which results in your death. This problem is most common on level 3 (and that level even has a bug where the transition freaks out and just... kills you, yep lmao) but it can appear on basically every levels beside level 5 and 6. This transition will be your most frequent way of losing, not fast gameplay you're supposed to read, not a tight pattern, nope not any of this, just a poorly designed transition. Another issue regarding the "inside" mode itself: your counter-clockwise/clockwise controls are inverted compared to the other modes by default and changing it in the settings is shooting yourself in the foot for the latter levels because it bugs out the "inside" mode transition further more. What a well-thought-out mode! The game also has some other, more minor, miscellaneous bugs like changing your settings can just... crash the game! Or sometime break levels by making them not spawn patterns (this occured to me once, might be an extremely rare bug). Level 1 can sometime have an impossible pattern (not a single opening to get through) and some of its hitboxes are very questionable. Clipping into walls from the side and dying is also quite a prominent problem in level 2 and to a lesser extent level 4, you're supposed to slide against the sides of walls on contact mind you! The finale of the game, the ultimate challenge the game presents to you, level 7 is stupidly lazy. You'd expect maybe something cool for a last level? But no, it's just the 6 other levels back-to-back (or in a semi-random order on hardest difficulty) and you have to survive a set amount of time in each to pass level 7. A finale that is recycled content, how wonderful. Oh and the achievements are broken too. Sometime they unlock, sometime they don't. For all of these reasons, I can't recommend this game to anyone really, even to somebody seeking a challenge because it isn't challenging due to actual difficulty, but rather poor design. Best to spend your money elsewhere, on something worthwhile, than this.
