Help! I'm Turning Into A Mermaid!

It's really good! I liked Max and this plays a lot like those games, except the social system has been expanded a lot. There's job minigames and you can go shopping and there's a cute/sexy morality system. I'm really enjoying it so far.

You will turn into a mermaid during the underwater section of Chapter 2. After Chapter 2 is completed, more changes will occur. Turning Mermaid is a point click story game about a pacifist police officer that moves into the Australian city of monster girls and humans. After meeting your girlfriend Ember and a little girl named Kitty, you discover the culture of this unusual new world and learn about a war between pirates and witches. Solve puzzles and take on part-time jobs to earn money. Make new friends and go on exciting adventures. Have fun under the sea!

It is a great game, the story is fun, the music is enjoyable, and the mini-games are great. I picked it up on a whim when I saw it in the discovery queue and now I want to play more games set in the same world setting. I want to talk so much about the plot but I don't want to spoil things. Great game so far. The dialogue is just as hilarious as previous games, and the character and background art is beautiful! Can't wait to see how the story unfolds.

Another fun story in Axon city! A great mix of story and puzzles that just sucks you in and doesn't let you go even into NG+. The three minigames are all fun in their own ways (personally I had some annoyance with the cooking minigame until close to the end when I realized just how much easier coordinating your sexy/cute style with it) and allow you to choose the way you want to earn your money for the Heart Beat items. The creator was great at watching both the bug discussion threads here on steam and in the Discord and updating the game quickly when issues were found. The only real negatives I have are that one puzzle on the boat (ya'll who played know the one and it thankfully was optional and I did it before the extra hint was added) and the choice of HB partner had very little payoff in the end. Overall I loved the game and the it persuaded me to go back and play through the RPG's that I skipped previously. Looking forward to the future of Axon City!

Help! I'm Turning Into A Mermaid! is my first re-entry into the Axonverse since the ostensible first game published under a different studio. At the time of writing, I have also completed Max's Big Bust and started My Mad Scientist Roommate Turned Me Into Her Personal Robotic Battle Maiden?!? As an avid VN player, HITIAM was a breath of fresh air in the genre for me. This game, like other entries in the Axonverse take themselves seriously while also throwing expectations to the wind. The story is thoroughly flushed out, but there is also plenty of satirical Aussie humour and fourth wall breakage. This title serves as an excellent entry point into the Axonverse and will introduce you to a large cast of lovable characters without ruining the story of the previous titles should you choose to follow in my steps and play through the games chronologically after completing HITIAM. All in all, Help I'm Turning Into A Mermaid! is an excellent title. Those that enjoy VNs will enjoy the breath of fresh air it brings to the genre, while those of you who don't lean towards visual novels will love it for the story, puzzle mechanics, and humour. This felt like an old Monkey's Island or King's Quest with its puzzles and logic. Also loved the art style. If I had to give a critic it would be that the text box frequently took up more of the artwork than I would have liked.

This game was a blast and very funny

I'm a big fan of Lach's other gender bending visual novels, and this one is no exception. While I came to see Hunter turn into a woman, the story as a whole really gripped me. It's a tale of conspiracy and trying to uncover the corruption in Axon City, something that I found interesting and it kept me going until the very end. I also really love seeing adventure game elements in other genres, and HITIAM has plenty of that. It has some clever but not too challenging puzzles that helped to spread out the gameplay beyond an otherwise linear story. I also liked that Hunter could work other jobs to earn money and play dress up. Frankly, this one is a must play for any fans of this Australian VN series.
