I really wanted to love this one- I appreciate all the work that went into it and having all the Iircade YouTubers added to the game is a great touch. But at the end of the day it really wasn’t a fun game. I think they tried to add some new game mechanics to this title, but they aren’t intuitive and they didn’t add anything to the game play. It just made the game confusing and frustrating.
Things I love: The music is spot on. The rocket flying stage is very satisfying The humor is great addition. Things I don't love: Bumping into an antenna stops you in your tracks. I would rather smash them!!! I can tell a LOT of work went into this, and I only made it to the third stage so far. Fun game, support indie developers!
This game nails the modern-retro vibe. Tons of fun, tons of metal. The soundtrack is sickkk. It's obvious a lot of work went into this and the characters and voice lines are hilariously awesome. YOU JUST YO SELF A NEW LIIIIIIFE!
I very much enjoy this game! I love run and gun shooters, and I like the adventure aspect, and the soundtrack is what really gets you in! Definitely a good game that I'm going to beat!
I love this game! Old school arcade style action mixed with insanity. Lots of the YouTube arcade folks are featured in this game and it's cool to interact with them. I have this Steam and both my recently pimp slapped iiRcade cabinets. Also, the soundtrack is BANGIN'! Alter your mind a bit, throw on some over the ear headphones, and give your brain a wake up call. Massacres, Metal, and Mayhem. Don't overlook this title. Is it Doom? No, but not everything needs to be.
Great game! If you like classic arcade games from the 90s, this one will feel familiar. It's got some digitized graphics like Revolution X, classic Mortal Kombat, NARC, Pit-Fighters etc... The action is frantic and the environments, characters and enemies are very inspired and creative. It's got a nice retro grungy creative vibe and the price is very low. It's ambitious and unique.
not bad for a buck :P
You might find something to like here if you were part of the "in crowd" of iiRcade. It looks like they used most of the Youtube personalities in the community as characters. Also made a character for independent wrestler "Warhorse". I'm unsure how he ties in to the game but he's here. The music is good from what I've heard so far. The commentator is kind of funny the first couple of times he says repetitive lines. That setting to turn it off the developer mentions will be appreciated. That's kind of where the positives end. Now for the negatives... -You take damage far too quickly. -You lose lives on obstacles before you've had a chance to recognize how they work. -Game incorporates a lane shifting gimmick where you can move from foreground to background similar to the old Fatal Fury games but not done as well. It is hard to describe why but it doesn't feel intuitive. -Fun is subjective but my little friend group tried the game and did not enjoy it on the iiRcade machine or the PC version. -Would be nice to have the PC version controls shown in the tutorial.
Great concept with a questionable execution. I think the lighting made it impossible to see the game. The game needs some additional refinement and it may become more accessible. Refinement like adjusting the UI to indicate how you can jump back and forth in 3d, for example. Also, it really is yearning for a contra-like aiming setup, including backflips, but its stuck in the four directions. The audio is also all over the place. I love the sound and vibe of it, but it needs some audio production to fix the volume issues. Overall, for a low low price, supporting this author may improve the game or his next game.
