I've been having a ton of fun with Heartwood Heroes, board game with rpg elements? I knew I wanted to play the hell out of this game as soon as I saw it. Keep in mind it's very simplistic but the Workshop feature makes me believe that people can create much more difficult scenarios or gameplay mechanics. Here's a Lets Play I did on the game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2960079845
This game seems to have been largely made with the Steam Workshop in mind, which is great, but sadly there wasn't much traction with it. I actually really love this game, and have indoctrinated several of my non-video-game-playing family members into loving it. Also, Ludosity's writing is always a joy. I can very much recommend this game, but I will also say that hey you should make some stuff for the workshop. I should get back to what I was making for the workshop.
This game is truly a hidden gem, but it does come with some serious drawbacks. The game is only multiplayer locally or through Steam Remote Play. This is great because your friends don't need to own the game to play along, but it sucks because if your friends do have the game only the host can get the achievements. The achievements are another thing to note, if you have mods installed at all you can't get achievements, also if you change the settings. The last problem with the game is that there is next to no community support that the game desperately wants in the form of alternate scenarios made by fans. I hope that this can be rectified in the future and is actually part of the reason to buy the game! The positives! Very funny and random dialogue, good balance of good and bad events, cool equipment. I could go on. This game is very easy to just pick up and play, but has enough nuance "and randomness" to make you want to play it again. The game isn't the easiest to win, (especially if you have 4 players who don't know what they are doing) but that makes the game more fun!
Obligatory positive Ludo review, despite some restrictive online capabilities and repetitive gameplay loop...

Snok my beloved
Snok.
I loved every second of it
gf and I play it and have a great time, simple as In all seriousness I think Ludosity has made a great game that's extremely fun to play with a group. It hits a great balance between fun/silly/random encounters and actual strategy. I hope more people get into it and there's more mods to play in the future.
The game is a riot with all of the comedy events and items. That is, when you can play it. I have tried multiple times with my friends to play using the Steam Remote Play, and with one person connecting, it is decent but is still the equivalent of watching TV on a satellite connection during a snow storm in the 90's. Having two people connect, that is just absurd. Unless the host is running on a fiber optic line, there is no way for the Steam Remote Play option to be viable. It would be amazing if a client-to-client option was available to get around the remote play downside.
