A fantastic Yuri VN with an amazing soundtrack.

Cheesy, and the pacing is a little odd at times, but the emotions it brings... indescribable. It is an absolute rollercoaster that can have you alternate between feeling like the world is ending and that its been saved every 20 minutes, and it never gets old. Highly recommend
Solid VN all around... I enjoyed the voice performances and the soundtrack very much.
Peak
I recommend this but only very reluctantly. "Highway Blossoms" is perhaps their best work, in my opinion, because it doesn't take itself as seriously as this one or "Tithe." It embraces its fluffy nature with a silly plot and a firm focus on its two main characters. I can get behind that even if I don't like Amber from time to time because the rest of the cast was FINE. This one, on the other hand, tries to get serious and dark in places, and, at first, I found this a nice change of pace. For me, the issue is that they never do much with those darker story elements. Here's an example --
We're told that Evelyn is this malevolent spirit with a great deal of power who has a WHOLE VILLAGE OF PEOPLE under her control, but the worst she does throughout the story is burn down a large tree in the middle of the forest and then get easily defeated by "the power of love magic."
It's truly baffling to me even now why it was written this way. Sure, this has bad endings, but you can tell that the writers wanted you to pick the good options. The choices in this VN were so stupidly simple that you might wonder why they even bothered including them in there to begin with. Of course, it was probably for the branching endings, but I do think a kinetic approach might have favored this simple storytelling style better. If they wanted the Disney fluff, they should have just doubled down on that. My thing with the darker story elements is that, if you're not willing to commit to the themes, you shouldn't bother introducing them to begin with. As such, I see this as a missed opportunity to really delve into a dark tale full of primeval forest magic or traditional customs from the area a la something like Midsommar. It's a real shame they always have to play it safe. It's certainly worth reading, but, at the same time, I'm sure you can find better games or visual novels to spend time with over this unless you just love their work.
This is the second Studio Elan visual novel I've consumed, the first being Highway Blossoms I absolutely loved the characters in this story, and while it did feel a lot slower to me than HB, I think I had less problems with this one in the end. I loved the supernatural story of this one. I didn't read any of the 18+ scenes so I cannot comment on them, there is one in chapter 4 and 5, but I don't know what they would have added to the story. I already loved the relationship they centre on by the end. This is a yuri visual novel, but there is also trans representation, and I think it was handled really well. It builds on her character but it isn't a detail thats brought up often, to the point its actaully only once. I loved the voice acting but that might be me reading plenty of vn without it. I believed I picked this up from a Humble Bundle offer, doesnt really matter, I think its well worth the money. Running on Arch Linux, no issues
