HAUNTED: Halloween '86

Haunted: Halloween '86 no es un juego retro al uso. Como ya pasaba con su antecesor, es un plataformas que está diseñado para funcionar en una NES real. Una rareza, con un gran trabajo detrás que hará las delicias de los amantes de la 8 bits de Nintendo y de los videojuegos de los 80. Gráficamente trabajada, mejora incluso el gran trabajo realizado en el primer título de la saga. Además, lleno de animaciones y diálogos divertidos que nos irán contando la historia. La música es pegadiza y digna de cualquier buen juego de la época. La jugabilidad es muy buena, con más movimientos especiales (que iremos aprendiendo durante la aventura) y una suavidad mayor que en "Haunted: Halloween '85", ideal para un juego de plataformas de este tipo. La dificultad es elevada, y va creciendo con el paso de los niveles (un total de 7). Por fortuna, las contraseñas que iremos aprendiendo con el paso de cada capítulo nos ayudarán a no tener que empezar desde el inicio con cada partida. En definitiva, un juego que podría haber sido muy recomendable dentro del catálogo de la NES si hubiera aparecido unas décadas antes, hecho con cariño y con un diseño de niveles excelente que te hará sufrir por su dificultad, y con el añadido de poder comprarlo (en su web oficial) en formato físico, con su caja e intrucciones, para disfrutarlo en tu NES. Just to disclose, I met the devs at PAX East and got a review copy of Haunted Halloween: 86'. I play alot of retro games on my stream, and when i picked up my controller to play HH86 thats just what i got. It is an NES era game through and through. The level design, the character design, even the music harken back to the days where you would spend minutes blowing into a cartridge before getting the game to work. Overall I really enjoyed the story and the skills that you unlock every level to make your journey even more exciting! I highly recommend to anyone who is looking to scratch their retro gaming itch.

This game plays really smoothly while feeling true to the NES experience. Things seem daunting and hard, then once you get the feel for it, it can all be beaten in one go taking around an hour, or if you prefer continuing with passwords, it has that too. Lots of secrets to find along the way and power ups so things don't get stale.

This game reminds me of one of those amazing wierd games fron the NES. The kind a friend or family member would have, that you did not get to play much but you loved it when you did. This game is wonderfuly nostalgic and brutaly difficult. A love letter to all those games that kicked your ass as a child. I loved this game and I hope you do to.

Sick soundtrack to accompany a great beat 'em up game. Controls are smooth and moves of the game are addictive. I found out if you start on EASY mode, you get all the moves through the hole game. I suggest this game. Pixel art is really good too.

This game right here, if you like old and classic games is for you! Retrotainment have done it again with this sequel to the original Haunted: Halloween 85. The Game features plenty of unlockable moves, cool levels and bosses, as well as ajustable difficulty. The music is awesome, with one of my favorites being Boss 6 and The Train level. If you really like it you can buy the physical cartridge for the original NES, which is where i spend all my time playing these games. I will be uploading a lets play as well as a video review over on my channel which I will leave links to when they go up. So dont be shy guys and gals. Retrotainment really put alot of passion into making these games and in this day and age, thats refreshing to say the least.

Definitely a lot of improvements over the previous game however still a few problems I'd say, if you're into retro games though its worth picking up in a sale.
