fun co op campaign. played for about 14 hours and had a great time. the story is a little boring though
scorpian tail ruins the game for pvp
If you need a post-mortem review of this thing just to reinforce that pit in your stomach as you scroll over this game's Store Page or lazily scroll through reviews and wonder if it was ever worth playing again, let me put your mind at ease... This game is like if you were once in a loving relationship with a wonderful girl/guy who, years ago, told you they wanted to take a break for a little while. You were uncertain about what that meant, but agreed to give her/him space. It hurt when you later saw her/him dating other people in public, but (then this game came out) and it now hurts even more to see what a horrid, debased, self-loathing ♥♥♥♥♥ that your ex-love has turned into. It disgusts you to your core - NOT that they belong to someone else for now, because maybe that comes with the promise that they might be who you loved once more some day - but because you could never have imagined them doing things so antithetical to what you loved about them that it turns your stomach to think about what's been done to them by the people they've been with since. HALO Infinite is a joke. A sick joke. A dark joke. The kind of joke that one uncle makes from the crowd in the middle of your grandfather's funeral which made your grandmother turn around and consider disowning him from the family. This game is an embarrassment compared to what HALO used to be. The story is god-awful. The characters - if not just ANOTHER annoying, emotionally-stunted nuisance - are immersion-breaking caricatures and one very unconvincing, supposedly-somber Spartan who serves no purpose but to be a mouthpiece for writers who don't like him and create endless dissonance in a silent protag/inserted player relationship that used to be perfect. The microtransactions are scummy, you have to PAY for COLORS. The choices of cosmetics span the range from LURING you in with Reach's immaculate aesthetic to being an eyesore with the cat ears, samurai-themed trash, and armor pieces just as disgusting as HALO 4 and 5's additions. The weapon catalogue/sandbox is vastly poor additions or worse versions of previously-available weapons. The vehicles and ground movement never felt right, which is incredible that they managed to mess it up when they could've just directly copied Reach or 3, which both felt FANTASTIC in their own way. And, really, if NOTHING else sums it all up with a neat little bow, try this: There's a long-running debate in the HALO "community" about whether or not Sprint, introduced in Reach, completely ruins the game in a myriad of ways. I disagree that it does in any of the ways described. I think Sprint is great. Makes you feel more like the super-soldier you're supposed to be. But, REGARDLESS of whether you like or dislike it, 343/Halo Studios was so WEAK, so TIMID, so UNSURE, so INEPT, so INCOMPETENT, so UNORIGINAL, and so INDIFFERENT... ...that they decided to "keep" Sprint, but only make it increase your character's movespeed by around 10%. Maybe exactly 10%. What this means is that your character will now go from a controlled, purposeful jog to wildly flailing their arms (as if actually sprinting) while barely moving any faster than before, as seen in the now-released Campaign Evolved, which I mention to indicate that they DIDN'T LEARN FROM THIS IDIOCY. It's like you're playing as a 350-pound McDonalds addict, who has to use every muscle in their body to move a little faster than a trudging waddle. As opposed to a super-soldier who can at around 34 miles per hour out-of-armor, and they're supposed to only get faster when they put the armor on. This game is pathetic. This company is pathetic. The state of HALO is pathetic. And there might be no franchise in gaming to have ever had a more catastrophic fall from grace than this.
The shooting mechanics just feel crisp.
Its a great edition to the Halo franchise! I truly enjoy the open world aspect of the game and multi player feels more like it went back to its roots than a couple other games.
it takes eternity just to connect your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Xbox profile its not even funny and last time i played finding match was pain
good
