(Free Trial review) Trying this game over a period of two days (yes only 40 minutes but LOADS OF FUN). I was skeptical at first but once i got the hang of it and started completing challenges, my gosh it felt so satisfying to "hack a password" or crack a wifi network. Great game.
[Note: Considering the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I may be missing something. But at the moment it remains true that I wouldn't recommend this to any hacker-adjacent friends] I'm probably still in the 'intro' section of this game, but the word I'd use most in describing it is "tedium". There is the experience of tricking machines into doing what you want ("hacking"), and then there is the mechanics of doing the trick. This game replicates the mechanics, instead of the experience. If there is a 'cool part' of hacking (I think there is), it's about the "tricking machines" part. I can't say I've seen any game so far quite pull that off very well, but this one isn't the close yet. NOTE: I might update my review after I've gotten further, but I'm not expecting a sudden shift in the experience. WEIRD SIDE NOTE: The music in this thing is pretty good! Better than the game, to be honest.
The game makes you problem solve and figure out where your making mistakes without giving you too much information while still being fun.
goil!
This game is really cool has nice in game features and gives a cool hacker vibes , you take on jobs for others and then are rewarded for them so it is a must try . :D
Enjoyed the demo, it's a good representation of linux, terminal CLI doesn't do too much hand holding. You'll have to think and troubleshoot some problems. However I can't get passed the StealExamQuestions mission because certain steps of it don't get ticked off. I did the last step of the mission and finihsed but step 5 of 10 is glitched. Started a new save and same thing but diffrent step in that mission.. You would think it would be coded to be all clear if you achieve the goal. Soo I got to giveup and would make me weary to buy the full version
