What could be scarier than a massive dungeon-tower infested with skulls, ogres, and dragons? That those same monsters ride the largest multinational in the world with it. You know; business is business.

Nice look and feel. The game is actually very joyful. I like it :)

The team behind Hack and Slime needs to take the time they put into the details with the graphics and spend some time on the dialogue as well as the story-line. Before I get into details about the dialogue, I would like to mention how the difference in detail with the roof in the background goes with each other, and how each one is different from the next. I like how they pay attention to how to shade the tiles to show damaged and old roof tiles. I enjoy how they did the swinging of the chain/flags in the sewers with the raindrops. Even though it all being a looped animation, they are different without feeling overlapped. This is a great game and once you can look past it. it is tons of fun. But the broken and lazy dialogue is almost enough to make you want to close the game and forget about Hack and Slime and Humble Villa as a whole. It's almost like they spend 22 minutes on the whole dialogue and just figured translation would be a good enough reason to leave it.. I have taken the time to fix the dialogue on my detailed report on Hack and Slime on my old website www.ontothenextlevel.com - which I still have the document for the developers and offered so in the past. I do highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a great side scrolling RPG with lots of combat. I wish the developers would take the time to fix the dialogue and put care into the story. That, in my opinion is the main foundation for what this game needs to find their true target audience as well as those committed to playing long term.
Hack and Slime is a roguelike side-scroller that tends to lean more in the direction of classic 2D games, rather than the stamina management, dodge roll, i-frames school of thought that tends to dominate modern 2D games. Despite its flaws, it's worth the very low price tag, and there's a lot of potential here for the developer to refine into something great once the Early Access period ends.
Pros

Excellent pixel art - it's crisp, colorful, easy to read, and has its own unique style
Consistent, well-paced level designs that ride the line between too short and too long quite well
Tons of gear to collect, compare, and equip
Solid enemy designs with well-telegraphed attacks
Decent music with memorable themes, comprised of logical and appropriate instrumentation
Fun, logical character progression that leaves you wanting to level up and advance your skills

Cons

Weak sound design - sound effects could use an overhaul, particularly attack and damage sounds
Very weak writing - really need a native English speaker to come in and overhaul the dialogue and copy
Controls occasionally feel a bit sloppy - could tighten up the player character movement code in particular
Collisions sometimes seem a bit off - explosions in general linger for far too many frames
More enemy variety would be great - slowly adding more enemies to the mix would create more intrigue
"Compare" dialog in inventory could be improved with colored highlights and some reorganization
A panel in your player info menu displaying a rundown of your current status effects and what they do would be nice
Overall UI cleanup and polish - a nice pixel font, more logical menu structure, key remapping, etc.

Conclusion
There's a lot here to like, and I can see myself returning to this as development continues. Assuming some of the aforementioned gripes are resolved, there's a genuinely good game here just waiting to be polished and refined. Especially for this price, you really can't go wrong. Juego cancelado, No vale la pena ni regalado ya que se puede jugar muy poco y quedas en la nada mismo.
Everything I mention below is "IN MY OPINION".
The Good

It really reminds you of a Diablo-style game but is more engaging if you like sidescrollers.
HUD improved greatly on the UNITY version.
Lighting improved greatly on the UNITY version.
The well cave in the UNITY version looks way more interesting than older levels due to the increased contrast with the darker background and the colored lighting.

To improve

Objective Things

Controls (Original Version)

Having to press ALT + UP to pick up an object works differently than other cases where drinking from a fountain or entering a door is just pressing up.
ALT to see what it is if you are interested.
UP to pick it up like all other interactions.

Enemies (Original Version)

Slimes apply contact damage in situations where they can kill you unnecessarily.
example 1: Pit full of slimes due to having a generator nearby, you get blocked between them, you can't attack downwards to avoid this.
example 2: Slimes appearing out of boxes, etc. Consider eliminating this by giving them an animation to hit you, even if is a one frame animation, is enough.
FIXED on the UNITY version!
Other (UNITY version)

Missing map: Without a map players will get lost in the labyrinths like levels.
Scenario design: Levels are like labyrinths in the UNITY version. Levels are mostly horizontal in the original version. Combining purely horizontal or vertical levels with labyrinths would bring some variety.
I have collected too much money and I can't find anything permanent to spend it on. Not all players are going to buy perishable items that give +5% or +10% for a short period of time. Statue bonuses are also temporal, consider to make them permanent since they cost every time more anyway giving you a way to spend that money.
Dynamic lighting: Make lighting torches meaningful by making the scenarios darker in areas where they are not lighted or remove it.

Subjective things

Movement options (UNITY version)

Modernizing movement options is a way to separate the game from its ancestors. Sure it will make the game easier, but whatever, it will also be more fun.
The player can't crouch and walk at the same time. Consider this. There are situations where you would like to move one step to attack static enemies.
There are situations where being able to jump to a different height might allow you to walk underneath enemies increasing the amount of possibilities for tactical positioning.
The dash could be another normal attack even if it doesn't go that far.
There are no vines or ladders.
Very fun and challenging, even being in early access you have game for a while because I've only been playing for just over 1 hour and I open it every day to enjoy it. One of the hack and slash that I enjoy the most for its easy controls, progression without overwhelming you and above all compatible with gamepad which is very much appreciated at least in my case, Congratulations to the developers and please do not stop giving so much love as so far.
