I absolutely love Gwent, and if you like card games, you'll most likely enjoy this one, whether you're a fan of The Witcher series or not. There isn't really a "story mode" to this game, but there is lore that you can read about as you progress through the rewards section. Because of the nature of the game, you really can play it forever and a day, crafting new decks and trying out different strategies. The gameplay is challenging if you want to do well, and you've got to know the strategy of each deck that you craft, and you've got to be able to adapt that strategy to whatever deck you're playing against. I've got 107 hours played and I imagine that number is only going to continue climbing. I really do recommend it, whether you're a fan of The Witcher series or not. Greatest card game ever made, and it's still worse than the beta version. Such a shame this game is dead, as I love everything that has to do with the Witcher series, and the love put in every animation, art, sound effect, music, and addictive gameplay embodies the absolute quality of the Witcher. I would love to see an MMO in the Witcher universe with a similarly complex Gwent game inside, similar to what ESO did, as I don't ever see the Gwent standalone game making a comeback. Maybe after the Witcher 4, but that's massive copium.

Legit the best card game there is at the moment, pity that there are no expansions anymore. the good thing is that this is now a complete card game, without getting into insane powercreep territory like YUGIOH and Hearthstone to the point where the game is unrecognizable. New player friendly with surprisingly a really healthy player community.
