Very janky but still very fun. The jank takes some getting used to but after getting into grips on how the game wants you to play, I couldn't stop playing. Took me around 10 hours to beat the game on hard with a few deaths here and there so it is a relatively short title. The gameplay doesn't offer too much depth so the short runtime really works for the game.
Aims high, but falls flat
Can be worth it if you're getting this game cheap. I got it for 3 €, might've gone max 5 € after completing. I think this game had good ideas and I can see what it could've been, but there was an obvious lack of skill by the devs, and they didn't manage to realize the potential. I have to give credit for the cinematics team and the character designers. With the exception of Quartz, the designs look really good.
The good
Camera works ok, and shooting is responsive, though having to constantly pull on the trigger was annoying. Towards the end, I realized, that if I press down once on D-pad, I can just hold the trigger, wish I would've figured that one out earlier. The special moves do look cool and you can use them pretty constantly.
The bad
Jank. So much jank. Melee is bad. You have combos for melee, but it felt like successfully using them was based on RNG. Levels, while having visual variety, suffer from combat being bland (and gun sounds being really wimpy) and very easy. But at least I managed to find only one place where I fell out of the level. :D While I did say the special moves look cool, they really lack oomph, especially later on. But with the game being so easy, it's not much of an issue. Most of my demolition point use (they fuel the moves) went to plain damage boosting and super speed. Most bosses went down in one go and the other few took two. Final boss had some more level to it. The last few levels were just hordes of enemies thrown at you without much anything needed besides just shooting. The voice actors are mostly not as much actors, as just reading from paper without thinking. And the writing... Oh gods the writing. It isn't the worst I've seen, but damn is it bad. It sadly falls short of being bad enough to be good. Typos, linguistic errors, really weird phrases, you name it. It's here. This was the part that really pained me. The game could've been an ok mid-tier romp with better writing. Now it's mostly forgettable. I wouldn't say the 12 hours I took to play this through once were wasted, but I also could've used them better.
A very action packed game that can feel chill in the beginning but ramp up competitively later, so far having a great time mastering the mechanics.
good gun fight game
Man this game throws it back to the days where I would walk into an EB Games and grab a random used PS2 game cause it was cheap. Solid shooter/hack n slash kinda. More so a Devil May Cry-lite with graded levels and combos, you know the works. The story seemed decent but I didn't really pay too much attention. Really just a solid game to pass the time if you can get it on a cheap sale.
