"Goofy Goober Simulator" is a garbage joke game, a simple MS-Paint 2D top down twin stick shooter with deplorably low quality. Put on Steam as a joke (weird way to burn $100 just to make Steam worse), the money could have perhaps better been given to charity or something, there's nothing at all of value here. It's not a serious attempt to make a game. It's just joke pollution. It would have perhaps been funny if this was the first joke game that was ever made, but there's literally thousands of these on Steam, from developers desperately hoping people will find their game is "so bad it's good". It is not good. In terms of visuals, this features really godawful MS-Paint tier "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. The deplorably bad visuals here come across as an insult to gamers. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS content!" and lazily tried to use procgen algorithms to create infinite, samey, repetitive, soulless levels, because that's a lot less work. As a result of this poor decision, the game gets tired and repetitive almost immediately. Developers must learn that procgen is a terrible substitute for creating real content. It should not be used as "ez-mode" for content creation, as the developer tried to do here. On pricing, this is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.Note: Joke reviews Because this is more of a "joke" game, intended to draw attention from controversy or in the hopes of going viral because it's "so bad it's good" (but it isn't good at all), there's nothing here to offer to serious gamers. As usual, with most awful/joke games, all the comedians come out of the woodwork. The vast majority of the reviews for this game are joke reviews, mocking the game for just how bad it is. The comedians give us the usual "this game cured my cancer, saved my marriage, changed my life" story... sarcastic, but not useful if you want to know if the game is worth it. Because most of the reviews are as insincere as the game itself is, the positive review score for this game should not be considered an accurate representation of the quality of the game.

this game single handedly saved my 12 year relationship AND helped me quit my smoking/drinking/gambling addiction. wow. what a game. edit - turns out i was just high, we're getting a divorce. 10/10 would definitely recommend to others
This game looks like something you would find on scratch and I love it. Reminds me of vampire survivors or holocure in a way, really good game but PLEASE add a workshop. A workshop would make this game so much more awesome

This reminds me of the early Castles Crashers back when I was a middle school-er given their first controller. Outstanding development.
