i love goo deer
I'm honestly torn on this game. I wanted to love it because of it's whacky nature. I mean you literally sell energy drinks to zombies, which is pretty funny if you think about, I mean come on! GOOD THINGS: The retail part is solid and the animations are mostly solid. Selling energy drinks to zombies is funny for obvious reasons. The game feels immersive at times. I didn't have a single crash. BAD THINGS: The hunting mechanic needs work. After you shoot a deer there is a high chance that the blood trail will vanish, or the deer will run into a spot that's covered by an invisible wall if you're not quick enough. You have a very small amount of ammo, so you have to make every round count! Ammo is insanely expensive! Your character is really slow. Invisible walls hinder your hunting. You need to hunt a ton of deer just to avoid running out of ingredients. KNOWN GLITCHES: If you stock your Deer Goo and move the shelf that its on there is a chance your Deer Goo will vanish. Sometimes you'll get stuck in the gas station door. (This is extremely rare!) Overall I'd give this game a 5/10 in the state that the game is in right now. I'll probably change my score to an 8/10 if the hunting gets patched. I understand this is an indie game so I want the game to succeed, but it needs work, and I'm willing to wait. Edit: I'm upping my rating to a strong 6/10 after the second patch. The hunting was improved significantly, but something else happened. In my game I had two deer spawn, and even though I shot the first one in the head it still managed to run, and the blood trail despawned instantly. The second deer despawn as soon as it went behind a rock, and after that no more deer spawned for me. I might have just got a bad playthrough, but its worth mentioning. Still a fun game. Also I'm grateful for the controller support. It actually works. Thank you VML Studios for putting in the effort. You're awesome.
Like i understand it is low graphics game but the concept is to different and like to good it is a combination of a horror game, super market sim and a satisfactory little bit because in this game you have to construct the products or manufacture it.
I really liked the game, there are areas for improvement, although I feel that having days when I choose to open the store or close it to go hunting would be better. but I loved the game. I keep working on it.
So, so far after playing the game for about 8 hours on stream so far, i'm really enjoying the game, makes me want to try to some other hunting games, with the game still being early access, theres been a couple minor problems i've encountered, like a box gets stuck in your hands, or the game kicks you out of your pc and you become locked, thankfully a simple save and quit to menu fixes it, so hopefully those will be fixed in a future patch, leaderboards are kinda funky...I'm hoping for in a future update, you'll get the opprotunity to upgrade your rifle to something better for trying to take on Deerman, which, with a bolt action rifle is not ideal, found out the hard way...would love to see also the option to turn off perma-death to go back to a previous save, especcially if you want to just take on deerman, it takes a long time to make enough money again to get the upgrades to challenge him again, I guess it does give replay ability, but say you just want to try to beat deerman it'll take awhile... I can't wait to see where the game goes, what happens if you beat deerman, who knows, its exciting DrDerpPlays
Really cool concept, but when i logged into my game today it wouldn't let me access the basement so i couldnt do anything at all :( tried several fixes and nothing works at all... once the game is refined, i will be back to play again for sure.
