About the game
God is Debt is a satirical Shoot 'em up that takes place in a world where the worship of capitalism resulted in the birth of a new pantheon. Each deity represents one of the many horrors that thrive within our profit-based society.
From the world map, you may choose from 6 different levels. Each one providing a new environment, music, enemies, and each ending with a unique boss fight.
Master each level by taking no hits and destroying all enemies to earn medals and vanquish all the evils from this world.
For the ultimate challenge, The Complete Saga will take you through all levels in one sequence. Good luck!
DEVELOPMENT
Originally made for a game jam, God Is Debt has been extended into a full length experience! All assets, from the visuals, to the music, are made by a single developer in GameMaker Studio 2, Aseprite, Waveform 11, and ChipTone.
