i think the best way to engage with this game is playing at the normal speed and opening it when you think of it, and then taking what you get and leaving it for next time, kind of like reading a poem before bed. i'd rather take something this atmospheric and introspective in small doses over time, and paying attention to the story letters you get sometimes comes at the risk of getting it wrong, but that's kind of like fishing, i'd imagine. the game's narrative is interesting and open-ended, and i'm looking forward for part 2. :3 great little game if you like to chill out and think about your place in the world.
I'm.... Perplexed by this game. I've caught more notes than fish in the game. The content of the notes is interesting, I like the atmosphere of the game experience so far. But, don't go into this expecting any kind of guidance on what to do. It's fishing, bait the hook (if you want) and choose a quadrant that you want to drop in. So far? 7/10, needs more fish.

God Fishing as a game is a failure. This indie game calls itself "experimental"? Yet it is nothing more than a horrible idle waiting game. It gives you very little but asks you to log in every day for a few minutes to progress? How is that a game? How is that enjoyable? It feels more like the developer played the "MOURNING TIDE (2025)" demo that came out just 5 weeks earlier and decided to scrape together a primitive imitation to ride the coattails. Two fishing games with similar concepts in the span of two months? Yeah nah, that ain't a coincidence. OH and also this game requires Internet connection to launch. This free, little, achievement-less game needs constant internet connection for whatever reason!? pErHaPs CoMe BaCk aFtEr A wHiLe... press "esc" to exit. How about I press ESC to uninstall. P.S. In response to the comment: I installed the game, shut down my internet in the entire house, tried launching this game and it failed. Once I had internet connection back online, I was able to launch it. So yeah, internet is MANDATORY REQUIRED for this game to run and that's a fact. Period.

Hold up - the game just showed me how to activate it's console commands. IT WANTS ME TO CHEAT. This just went from an exercise in patience to an exercise in deductive problem solving and I am ALL for it.
Perhaps come back after awhile...
A tricky thing to review because you can't binge and rush through it. You cast your line, step away for a little while, and come back to reel something in (not always fish). Thankfully you can quit out of the game, it doesn't need to be open the whole time. I appreciate that it doesn't try to eat up your time, it's just a small contemplative thing to check in on here and there. There's some little mysteries to unravel and I'm interested to see where it goes. [strike] Really my only complaint is there should be a more conventional way to exit out of the game. As is you need to do something like alt+tab or F4 to exit. [/strike] Edit: a quick exit was added!
The font in this game is hard to read and I don't like it. It said press ESC to exit so I guess I'm done?
This game is cool, but it's just not for me. The water visuals keep lagging and it makes me feel a bit dizzy (photosensitivity) and I'm too slow on the motion to reel in the fish to even catch anything. And then the waiting... Closing the game to open it again, even with 20x time speed misses the point of patience, it's just a chore.
