I've tried to enjoy it yet I just cannot...lets go over pros and cons and let me tell them what they could possibly do to make this game better. Pros: It has nice cartoony visuals, the atmospehere(If you could call it that) is somewhat decent and that's pretty much it... Cons: Sword is way too small for your hand. Crossbow is...decent I guess? It's a crossbow that I have to main to complete levels. No smooth turning or walking options so I uncomfortably have to move around in real life to move around in game. What could be done to improve the game? Well settings...settings for movement and settings for graphics quality. Make the sword larger! Like jesus it's like i'm just holding a blade, maybe even add weight to the sword and add collisions on enemies to make it actually seem like sword fighting or just add some cartoon wind as you swing it because it's cartoon. Add like a visual to where your arrow is gonna hit, I can't keep spending 3 minutes on each batch of enemies. Finally, add some HUD because I got confused on how I was dying with no cues or any obvious ones.(I have noticed a heartbeat) Over all this game is just a...bad mobile game for vr, I see potential in it and I will be following development if they decide to actually put time into this game. Otherwise only get it if you're looking for some friends being over and you wanna spend an hour taking turns for this game but there are PLENTY of other good choices for you to choose, that are even possibly free, other than this one. Thoughts? I have comments open, leave em below.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift
I guess you could call this a dungeon crawler ... if you're being generous. It plays just like a wave shooter (with set pieces though), where you can use the saddest crossbow or a knife. You select one of 10 levels (once you beat a level the next one unlocks). You get stars ... for your score killing & breaking everything). Teleport is the only locomotion, there is no snap or smooth turning. This game is so bad that I won't even do a video review for it or a Steam Curator review. I'd hate to bring this curse upon my channel. The only good thing I can say about the game is that I didn't experience any bugs and it seemed to be running smoothly. Everything else was horrible. Combat was super bad. Worst crossbow I have ever experienced in VR. Shooting mechanic is terrible and it has an exaggerated arrow drop. The dagger is almost as bad. You can just wave that thing around. There is no strategy. You can stand right in front of the enemies and they'll just stand there too. You have to stand even closer to them, then they will just charge straight at you. I was only able to do the tutorial and the first 2 levels after that. I had to tap out. Death is a better option. The levels all looked the same except for a few minor differences and a few different enemies (they all acted the same though). I know this game is free to play, but time is more valuable than money in my opinion. This is not worth your time. Rate 2.5/10. But you don't have to take my word for it, you can always download it yourself and see if it's a complete waste of your time or not.
Watch my video here https://youtu.be/GRlvpCWnG08
Played on the HTC Vive Cosmos Elite with Index controllers [/b} Graphics are not bad for a free to play game. It clean and sharp. It's colourful. No ray tracing or gorgeous lighting effects so don't expect much. Audio sounds great, but some of it is missing. An example is there are no crossbow sounds. The gameplay is repetitive very quickly. A good amount of levels to enjoy. You have a knife and a crossbow. Your goal is to make it out the other end of this dungeon crawler. Overall it's a free game and I'm not a fan of saying it needs this or that when it's free. The game plays okay, but it just lacks any form of decent fun for me. Turns out not everything is addictive in VR. So I'm 50/50 on this game
Yeeeeaaah it's bad, but would be better with a sex mode so I can fill all those goblins up.
Before I played Goblin Rush, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
Goblin Rush is a basic VR FPS wave survival "dungeon" shooter with a cartoony goblin theme. Gameplay consists of standing completely still and shooting various dungeon themed enemies with knife/crossbow as they swarm at you, and moving around by "teleporting" because that makes perfect sense for a dungeon crawler. The quality is very low, with shallow gameplay and mobile app tier low poly "art" due to lack of budget/talent to do better. This seems to have been made a VR exclusive to prevent any comparison with non-VR 3D games, a comparison that this game would fail very badly at. Developers must learn that while VR is great, if the only thing that makes your game great is the VR, then your game isn't great at all. Imagine knowing your game is so bad that you make it a VR exclusive in the hopes it will prevent people playing it and comparing it to professionally developed games. While this is being given away for free, it's really not very good at all.
