Reviews
No. Vastly over-priced and zero strategy, in the main gameplay. Two countries face off, taking turns to act. Either... 1. Attack - Attack score +1D6 vs Defence Score +1D6. Attacker wins if result is higher than defender, and inflicts one victory (first to three wins the war). 2. Draw - Top card from an invisible deck. You won't see the card unless it is a keeper - one of four attributes must match with your national attributes. A kept card will increase your Attack or Defence score (usually Defence). The idea is that you build up your Attack, hopefully faster than the enemy builds up theirs, until you can make a powerful attack. That's it. There is no strategy here, just luck of the draw. There is a little strategy in 'Coalition Mode'. Here you have a world map and control of some countries, whilst up to three enemy coalition have an equal number of countries under their control. A win (as above) takes control of the losing country. Expand your empire until you have defeated all coalitions, and rule the world. But this basically means the US and USSR steamroller all other countries, until their inevitable confrontation. A minor country might defeat one of the superpowers, with an improbable run of extremely good luck (building a superior Attack score). Very very tedious. Refunded.
