I liked this one. I felt it was very immersive and easy to play. There was a lot of loot and a satisfying amount of weapons. Graphics were awesome. The entire game took place on the ship, so don't expect a ton of different locations. I like that sort of thing, but people who do not should look into it further. Most importantly, the squad did not detract from the experience, though the option to go through alone would have been great. I just completed my first run through this game and found, for me, at least, the effect of being trapped in a hopeless situation came across as intended. That one man did this is remarkable--well done! This is the best of the three Ghostship games, in my opinion. My only complaints are the screen tears a bit here and there and, for whatever reason, the player's objectives are plastered on the screen with apparently no way to remove them. A simple toggle option would help tremendously. The developer is still on this project, I think, so one can only hope. It did feel a little short, but I played it often; perhaps I just blew right through it. Additional areas on the ship were made available during my run, so it'll no doubt feel longer my next time through. I also don't think I went everywhere there was to go. Most places, but perhaps not all. There's a tremendous opportunity to add more content in a different location at the end, but that's easy for someone who is not a developer to say. The game is quite good as it is. It would also be a great place to start a sequel. I played offline almost exclusively, so I'm not sure how many hours it took. Some of the enemies were a little lackluster and the AI went soft at times, but now I'm splitting hairs. In all, I felt the pros far outweighed the cons. I enjoyed this game quite a bit. Again, well done!
I along with Bone were Shauns beta testers on this one so our hours in game are higher than most. The 'would you recommend it bit ' is 'Yes' dependant on whether Shaun adds more content to the game as it is.The story mode is always the main reason I buy a game nowadays anyway, being too old now to field smart arsed answers or trolling insults when your team had just won what you thought was an enjoyable game at the time.I liked the upgrade to the UE4 engine and that driving music and beat when the action started to wind up and the ship with its blue soothing lighting turned up looked great.Shaun is still a master at getting into your mind Psychologically in game and a scream behind you would often be the harbinger of doom as you were trampled on by his stampeding aliens in his older stuff, they were like Buffallos but just with green and black blood. You knew you were in trouble when the blood turned red because that was your own. My own preferance in a game was a good story mode with a bit of grey matter having to be used as well as fighting abilities to achieve the objectives. This one had us turning round constantly as was normal in Shauns games with constant attacks from behind, but this time we were often looking for errant wandering squad members, instead of maruading Aliens .If you enjoy pushing on and foraging alone like in Shaun's other games the joy of having Ai team mates for the first time may wear off quickly, but only time will tell depending how fast Shaun gets your AI sorted. There are still a few glitches but promises to Shaun of undying love and feedback ,did not happen after he had issued his free keys a couple of years back now.SO he was left pretty much high and dry for opinions and feedback, The main testing thrust at the finish was Bone and I trying to browbeat Shaun into changing stuff we were not happy with but Shauns old Avater of 'Hard as Nails' was not for nothing. The resulting game realease Bone and I will probably never understand but Shaun wanted it out there just to see how the market accepted it.I played the story mode to a finish more times than anyone and it still felt short, but I think moving round the game like a rocket ship bypassed a lot of coding glitches that are now coming to light. But Bone found enough of those anyway on his own for both of us.I would give it a conseravative 7/10 for its looks and the music alone. And Shaun was always beavering away anyway to sort out glitches and add further content ,so if you like his past efforts buy the game ,on his ability to add even more content down the line, cos he would never let them grind him down ever. The sad part in the modern era of anti social media is everyone is trying to tell you what your opinion is ,and us oldies always left that to PC gaming mags anyway ,until Jim Sterling appeared and said it was all crap anyway and just believe in my crap not theirs. Its your money so you choose.I have two sons both buy games for their familly so they are not only decent gamers across all platforms but they buy games for their family(Themselves really.).I bought them one each last weeek on its release. One loved it and burnt through the story mode about 4 times to completion gave a review and disappearred back to his Xbox ,PS5 gaming worlds but liked what he saw.My other son was like Bone and came across all the delays that Bone had. He eventually finished his first run yesterday but said Shaun had patched every glitch that stopped him initially getting to a finish. So thats about it .If he had released into ea there would be less concern than full retail Bone tells me but, if you like it anyway and believe the Devs intentions you buy it.If you think the Chavs will win out you dont .I paid less than £35 for both games and felt it money well spent.I paid £70 for a single Sega Mega drive cartridge for the pair of them back in the late 80's and they were both fed up in a week.THats life sometimes Their opinion was its ok for a story but needs some more and the extra content is always there for those to whom story modes will never grab their attention.
Please add story COP?
Running down hallways open doors... running down hallways again... killing Aliens Hord...running down Hallways again Stupid AI incredibly boring Ghostship Chronicles can be Complet under 4 Hours
Well the visual upgrade is nice and now you have Ai squad that you can kick alien buts and face all kind of other horrors (^ ^)
Cool Game
love it, havent played this type of game since area 51 on ps2 . love the atmosphere and the tiny creature attacking you give you a hell of a challenge
A poté normal a postupně odemykat úspěchy. Hra mě na normal docela potrápila, hlavně ta úvodní pasáž, kdy hrajete sám. Miluji tyhle béčkový hry na lodi od jednoho autora.
