Gerrymander Madness is a free VR experience. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. This software was designed for a museum environment. The rooms looked nice. Needs more time on the clock. I didn't see how to subtract or shrink a district's borders. The controller scheme needs work. I live in North Carolina and i am well aware of all the Gerrymandering that has been done to all the Voting districts in the state. This program might help educate others of what political dirty tricks have been done to the state citizens. Both parties have been and still are guilty of this. Try this, if you are interested in state politics. For more info: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-4dIImaodQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpamjJtXqFI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcUDBgYodIE
obviously there's limited replayability, however I definitely enjoyed the insight given by democrat simulator, here's hoping this kind of practice doesn't play a part in the upcoming real election, same for any other similar shady practices.
Eurochads can't relate
Gerrymander Madness, oyuncuları kurgusal bir Kuzey Carolina yasa koyucunun ofisine yerleştiriyor ve seçilen bir parti için siyasi avantaj elde etmek amacıyla eyalet haritasının bölgelerini manipüle etmelerine olanak tanıyor.
Yes.
What?!? The land of the free? Whoever told you that is your enemy.
"Gerrymander Madness" is a bit of political propaganda that demonstrates a broken political system. At best this is a pointless tech demo, at worst, it's US politics being shoved down gamers throats on Steam. What do you do in the game? Plug around with electoral maps which are represented by a hex grid, totally unlike actual electoral maps, so that's a huge failure. And of course these guys set out on their mission of political indoctrination, which of course should aim to reach as many people as possible, and they also made it VR exclusive, to ensure it reaches as few people as possible (Steam hardware survey shows less than 2% of Steam gamers bothered with VR). Talk about aggressively and repeatedly shooting yourself in the foot, stopping only to reload a couple of times. Whether we may or may not agree with the cause, it's my firm belief that politics of any kind has no place in gaming. It does no service to gamers at all for political or social agenda to be shoved down our throats, no matter which side is doing the shoving. We're here to have fun, not get indoctrinated. Because the primary purpose of this product is totally unrelated to gaming, this really just makes gaming worse, and does nothing to further the developers political crusade. This is one of those things that gives amateur developers such a bad name. The graphics aren't great, low poly, poor quality (and possibly flipped) office assets for the background, and minimalist low poly stuff for the hex map... really phoned in. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. This game is fairly dated at 6 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Let's talk about price and the value this represents for us gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at only 14 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Since free games don't contribute to your game collector badge and other profile stuff, is this a worthwhile addition to your Steam library? Not on a bet. This might be "free", but I still feel like I got ripped off.
