An astronaut has crash-landed on an alien planet, and it's started to rain... seeds. Featuring a campaign and an endless mode with leaderboards, Germination is an arcade platform-em-up about stomping your way to the highest combo, excruciatingly detailed with hand-crafted animations.

yea this game's pretty alright i'd say
semplice e splendidamente disegnato. piuttosto recente eppure sembra già un classico... jumper botanico da prendere a piccole dosi. congrats to dev for these "hand-crafted animations".
Germination is one of those games that allows you to easily hop into it and figure out what's going on. You move around, you jump, and jumping on enemies kills them. You can go higher and faster if you don't touch the ground, which gets you more points. It does well by making things as simple as possible, but adds actual intricacy in how you approach it. The art style is charming, with music that accompanies it. Everything feels fluid and seamless which lets you easily get involved in the game as you jump around and try to ruin these plant's day.
I thought I'd love this since I love Downwell, but I guess not. The design isn't as tight. Unclear SFX, character is nearly uncontrollable during a combo, you fall way too fast, plus the game's skipping frames. Oh, also, the game likes to waste your time when you die. You gotta wait before restarting, as you see your character floating around the world while you listen to the plants. You can't tell me that was done to give the player a break when you can still hear your annoying enemies. This kind of thing adds up especially in an arcade game.
Am I stomping for peace or am I delivering genocide to these innocient space flora. All will become clear.
Germination is a simple, yet great game. It was made well and has very addictive gameplay. It is well polished and I haven't found one bug yet. The animation style is great, a type of 8-bit style that really feels well made. Bravo to the developer.
