About
Venture aboard humanity’s first and final generation ship, a desperate expedition teetering on the rim of collapse. You are the Caretaker- you must make the most of finite supplies and rally the remaining survivors to restore a sustainable society. Adapt to the strange ecological entity propagating on board, or succumb to ruin. It’s going to be a long journey, but no two journeys will be the same…

Plan your settlement wisely- Build detailed production chains to meet your society’s needs and sustain its development. Thoughtful structure layouts will maximize range-based resource distribution.
Upgrade production- Upgrade existing structures over time to improve efficiency, and repurpose resources as your settlement evolves. Progression brings discovery and new technologies to enhance your existing structures.
Restore the ship’s ecosystems- The ship was supposed to be an ark for numerous ecosystems from Earth, but the mistakes of the past have left them all near ruin. Develop systems for a circular society, rejecting excessive extraction and unsustainable growth.

Decisions and consequences- You’ll face choices at all stages of your journey, from designating individual task crews to settlement-wide rationing verdicts. Narrative events provide focused interactions with the characters, set in detailed vignettes of the ship’s environment. Decisions you make will directly impact structures, crew, and wellbeing within the ship- and ultimately determine the key challenges of your mission.
Dynamic cast of characters- Characters age, form families, and retain memories of events they witness under your leadership. Meet your comrades aboard the ship and follow their stories, spanning generations across hundreds of years.
Your unique story- The ship’s characters are procedurally generated at the start of every playthrough, resulting in a unique cast of NPCs. Crewmates’ distinct skills, abilities, and personality traits yield new narratives and strategies every game.

Build a sustainable society and revive the generation ship’s fragile ecosystems, using only what was brought with you to sustain the search for a new home. Your situation may be isolating, the crew unruly, challenges uncertain… but as Caretaker, you are Humanity’s last hope. How will your journey end?

I've played through the first two chapters of the game, and if anybody likes board games, that's sort of what it feels like - A pretty fun but still unpolished, puzzley, building placement board game. What's it's got going for it: - The vibes (narrative + writing + themes) - Good gameplay (making production chains through buildings to accomplish your goals; not too hard, not too easy) - Interesting concepts (crises and beneficial events that could affect your crew members) - Everything mostly works despite it being EA (I only had one crash/bug that I noticed) What needs to be improved: - Better tutorializing for players; a bit too much friction w/ figuring out how some things work - Information clarity/presentation for the players through UIX - You can't load a save while in game? (I assume this QoL will be added eventually, but seems weird that I have to exit to Main Menu to load a save) - More events? I got a lot of repeated events during my playthrough. Not sure what the actual breadth of events are and what exactly causes specific ones to trigger. Overall, it has the foundation of a pretty enjoyable game. At the very end of the content available, I got access to some a new that change the way a previous mechanic worked, and that's always exciting. I could see how getting more buildings will affect how you can play and build. The maps aren't very big and so it's neat that you have to keep space and terrain features in mind. I think if that feeling of tension presented by limited space & limited resources is improved upon, whereby a player can feel really successful when they figure out the best way to accomplish map's objectives, then the game will feel really good to play.

Try the demo. The demo answers a lot of questions you might have, and some things that don't look great in the screenshots work better in-game than expected. Caveat: the demo doesn't include any biomes beyond the first one, as far as I could tell, and it might not be completely up to date. Even so, it was enough to convince me to buy the game, and I haven't been disappointed.
Has been a really fun playthrough so far. Going on 15 hours and I love the way they approach the civ management style with a trendy art style and easy to understand resource flow charts. Brilliant UI. There's not too much room for nuance after you've gotten a grasp of everything but man those first 10 hours are addictive.
A delightful city builder with a great resource generation curve. Starts out straightforward but every time you get comfortable with a resource chain, you'll unlock something new to weave into it. Fun story as well as part of the campaign, really ties in what you're building with who you're building it for.
This game needs more time in the oven. In addition to the meriad of minor bugs, much of the balance and UX of the game is wanting. Waste storage and management is a nightmare. There are no ways to set up solid, self-sustaining production chains. Everything takes constant micro-management, even at the end of the game. Also, the campaign is a joke. When you get to the end of chapter 4, the game essentailly starts over. I thought the game had bugged out because all of my settlements were gone and it said I was on Turn 1 again. I actually went back to my older save and replayed it only to end up back in the same place. Insane design decision that was likely made to cover for the bad pipeline management I discussed above. There are so many better games in this genre. Pass on this one.
Certainly need more debugging. Some of the upgrades will stack as you save and reload the game. While the chapter 5 itself is causing crashes.
I am really enjoying the visuals and storyline so far! The game tutorials have been easy to follow so far and it's been fun watching my city grow.
Currently has a bug that prevents progress beyond the first hour or so of gameplay
Really wanted to love it, it's a cool concept, but there's not enough story/narrative. The resource management and supply chains are pretty good but without more substance to the game it's just not engaging.
Fun and promising, with good atmosphere.
