Gem Force is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a cash grab by lazy mobile devs. It's a minimalist ripoff of the mobile app tier puzzle game, 2048, but "gems" are used instead of numbers. The objective of the game is to "push" gems around using the arrow keys (in lieu of swiping your phone screen). When gems are adjacent to identical gems they turn into the next highest value gem, thus increasing your score. By all means this is just a minimalist mobile app with simple 2D "art", locked resolutions and a screen tapping control schema. It's unclear why this has been dumped on Steam instead of the app stores where it belongs. As usual I can't recommend mobile apps to gamers, even if they've been launched on PC by mistake. I didn't spend thousands on a gaming rig so I can pretend it's an iPhone.
Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
The developer insists there's no such thing as a "lazy movile dev", but this blatant ripoff of 2048, deficient in every respect, is complete proof of that. Literally hundreds of years of man-hour development goes into games like Skyrim and Death Stranding, but this amateur, non-professional spends an hour or so ripping off someone else's game concept, and they insist they're not the lazy ones in the grand scheme of game development. I beg to differ, and I offer masterpieces such as Mass Effect, Skyrim, Death Stranding as proof that genuine, professional game developers aren't lazy and don't push out lazy crap mobile apps. Sure, perhaps this amateur, mobile dev thinks that what they did was "hard work", but even if it was (and evidence proves it wasn't), that just proves the developer in this case wasted effort in a highly inefficient manner, as their "hard work" resulted in mobile garbage with zero quality or value for gamers. The developer insists their crap ripoff of 2048 is not intended for serious gamers, or anyone else really, I guess we can agree on that. So why did they pay $100 to dump this on Steam, where nobody wants to see mobile garbage? It's a mystery. The developer confuses the concept of a game being multi-platform with the quality of a game, highly disingenuous. Nobody judges a game by the most capable platform it can run on. It's trivial to emulate a Commodore 64 on PC. Apparently, according to this amateur mobile dev, whose games were ejected from the mobile platforms due to insufficient quality, that means C64 games are the pinnacle of gaming because they can run on a modern high end gaming rig. What a preposterous position to take. Once more the developer fails to understand that games are judged by their quality, and being a mobile app, the lowest denominator, this is garbage. Nothing in the pointless response from the developer has changed the fact this is a lazy mobile ripoff of someone else's 2048 game concept. I cannot recommend this mobile app garbage to gamers.

I got this on sale, and for the price, I like this fun puzzle game; the Steam inventory items are cool and work well with the game, and the gem designs remind me of the gems from Diablo 3.
Pretty Good Game

Very nice designed game, and a nice way to make money
I don't know how I played this for 11 hours. Drops a bunch of useless items in your Steam inventory doe
