i originally left a positive review expecting for the game to get better, it's been abandoned by devs, dont even waste your time
I spent 2 hours playing this and I feel pretty confident saying I seen everything put into this game. It is extremely bare-bones, it feels like one of those shock waves games you'd find on those old flash game sites, for free, It's whatever, but I can't believe this was put on steam with how little exists in it. I'm still not sure how to even use potions, or alcoholic drinks to restore health. Item drops are incredibly scarce and you're left running to the same locations with item spawns already there to pick up the singular item that only respawns once without having to exit to the main menu. This game features combat and you'll spend most of time running in circles with the various dogs and ants slapping their butt with your sword until they ragdoll and where blocking is too slow to stop more than one attack, instead of having a hold based block, your character plays a looping animation that looks like he's trying to parry the incoming attack, but the animation is too slow to be able to block two at a time and attacks are generally fast enough that the second attack will get through, making blocking completely pointless, resulting in cheap damage done and with no way of drinking potions to heal a quick death will soon follow. On that same note, Exp is granted on enemy kills, you lose Exp if you kill a friendly unit or die (which will happen rather frequently because things hit like a truck if you plan on face tanking things) Exp is used to craft and open up new ranks in the main menu drop down tab, it's rather pointless as well since you only get to command 4 units in total who spawn on the beach at the start of the game, have garbage aim and will be killed in seconds. Their aim isn't entirely their own fault though as the guns are incredibly hard to hit with, they have an accuracy value but I have no idea how actually accurate that value is since your bullets will rarely hit what you're aiming at unless you're using the higher tier of rifle and even then it's a crap shoot, plus the smoke that's emitted from the weapon upon being fired is larger than your character and completely obfuscates the actual bullet so there's no real way to tell where it went. The dev states there's factions, but from what i'm almost fully certain changing colours does seem to do anything, blue enemies will fire on you no matter what, red units still follow regardless, I'm not exactly sure why it's even mentioned besides for multiplayer, which is also entirely Lan based, unless you do a hamachi style thing, but I never did test it. None of the doors actually open for some reason, there's no sort of checkpoint, you could probably beat the game in a couple minutes if you didn't have to wait for an eclipse to happen to actually open the teleport to get the very strange "ending". The Rank of "General" doesn't appear to do anything, there's no notifications when you do unlock these ranks. Grinding Exp is an absolute chore for very little reward, the longsword to the black sabre jumps in cost, but not in damage and things take quite a bit to bring down. This game is just unpleasant right now, and idk if it'd even be worth if it did cost any money, I thought it'd at least be funny to play around with, but it's like quicksand. The dogs sound hilarious.
the dog sounds were amazing 10/10 would bark again
ANTS BIGGER THAN THE DOGS
game kicks ass!
top game
Its a fine game, the multiplayer is confusing to set up but i did manage in the end. The secret in the cave is impossible. The Rifles below the flintlock don't seem to be able to be reloaded. The game does require a bit of grinding to get to general. But its a fine 10-minuter game, except i spent over 2 hours on it.
Before I played Gelldonia, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
