Gears of War: Reloaded

This is nothing like the original gow1. Its slow sluggish and unresponsive. The Gnasher is nerfed into the ground. I used to play gow1 Annex religiously on 360 This is a mess. They added matchmaking You can't just jump into a game straight away. Do not buy. It's a huge disappointment. If they just re-released the first one with extra player models and skins it would have been a success. even unpatched. it would have been great. I always felt like the franchise lost sight of what it wanted to be after gears 2. I get the point of innovation but with innovation you need a base formula. this doesn't have that.

no split screen.... great game... played well on my steam deck... just wish split screen was an option...

The game is a lazy port of a 10 year old remaster. They released it with less features and no support then dropped it.

easy to say no. the game says split screen and local co-op. they do not provide split screen or local co-op and i don't know why steam even allows them to put that as a description. So even though the game says split screen and does not provide it i cant return it. welp ♥♥♥♥ you for false advertising. THIS GAME IS NOT SPLIT SCREEN ON PC DO NOT LISTEN TO THE LABEL. CLEARLY GEAR OF WAR IS MADE BY PEOPLE WHO HAVE 0 IDEA HOW TO MAKE A GAME. THEY JUST COPY AND PASTE PAST SUCCESS JUST SO THEY CAN TAKE AWAY FEATURES. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE MONEY AND BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL NEED TO STOP PRETENDING YOU KNOW HOW TO MAKE VIDEO GAMES.

Unless you have never played Gears of War and would like to experience the campaign (which is amazing), I would definitely not recommend this game, it is just a port of Ultimate Edition that is worse. Only get this game on a discount if you have never played the campaign before and want to get into it and don't already have an Xbox that you can just play Ultimate Edition or the original GOW on.

I find the negative reviews claiming that this plays nothing like the original Gears hilarious. At times I feel like this plays too much like the original. Believe it or not it's always been kinda slow and the AI in the first game's campaign has always been a bit clunky, but the way some people describe it you'd think it was practically non existent now. Makes me realize how far we've actually come for people to be this confidently wrong and blinded by their nostalgia goggles. That being said, it would of been nice for them to give the AI some extra love and attention considering this is the third time they've released the game. With it now being accessible to a larger than ever before audience you'd figure they'd want to go all out. Still doesn't change the fact this still plays like it's 2007, but maybe this was just an appetizer before E-Day. Take that as you will. This is, for better and worse, the original Gears of War. Warts and all. It's always been a tad clunky, but this game is what made cover shooters what they are today, and I'll always appreciate the shooters that came and evolved from this formula. Gears has always been my go to Xbox game, and it's easy for me to recommend this game to anyone (with my full bias noted) The biggest complaint I actually have is there is no reason for this game to be 75gb. That's just hilariously gross. Other than that, It's Gears. Have fun.

I love whenever my 20 year old video game gets remastered with less features. Bring back split screen or split your head against the sidewalk you cowards.
