Microsoft needs to stop doing this, you need windows gaming service running to login to cross play, why couldn't they do like Epic online services or other where it is kinda bundled with the game itself where we can login easily to microsoft/xbox account, or open browser like Wuthering Waves/ Where winds meet . Credit where its due, its not needed if you just wanna play with steam friends, only needed for crossplay Also, not sure why the loading time for a level is so high in SSD, especially when the CPU is at 30-50% maximum. It does all shader compilation after loading the level IN-GAME which is insane, so the first 1-2 mins you get 30 fps before getting 120+ fps that you should have gotton. Why couldn't they shader compile during loading of level or game boot or in menus? Anyways it seems nice story driven campaign
I cannot recommend this game. Sure, it looks good. But there is so many bugs and frustrating elements that keep it at not recommending.

great remaster
Amazing game and franchise. This edition is worth the money. I wish there were bots in private multiplayer, but no biggie. I enjoyed revisiting this game in this Reloaded form so much that I went back and started playing the entire franchise over again. Looking forward to E-Day.
I like Gears of War, but man this port is pretty rough. I gave it a thumbs up because i like Gears (1-3), and im glad its on Steam, and it was fun to play, but man this port has some issues. I just think you should be aware of them if you decide to purchase this game. If I could I would give it a medium review. Things I found that were messed up in this port are: -Glitchy spots when walking that you get caught up on -Teammates dont follow you 80 percent of the time, and just hang back until you get to a checkpoint, and just teleport to you, Calling them didnt work when that happened also (I suspect this broke in the porting process, a long with a few other things) -I had teammates get "downed" but were just standing there -Dom blocked a few doorways so i couldnt get through them, and WOULD NOT move. I had to restart the checkpoint -Teammate commands hardly ever worked -I dont like how bullets would go right through enemies but wouldnt count as a "hit" (though to be fair, I think the OG game was like that also) -The shadows were pretty bad. You would walk through some spot lights, and it wouldnt cast a shadow where you would expect. (This is something i would think they add/fix in the "remastering") -Enemies would just get stuck and glitch in a spot sometimes I think a lot of these problems are stuff breaking in the porting/remastering process, but i think one or two were in the OG game also. When that stuff happens it kind of bugs me and I feel the game didnt have enough polish time Some things I really did like about the game: - I really like the ragdoll, gibs, and physics objects. I love when games have those. Especially if the game runs well at a high frame-rate -I did like how "well" the game ran, (even if it had some bugs at times) I got a pretty much solid 240 fps native. (VERY RARE for an Unreal game) They should just build games on old Unreal engines and port them over since they can run so well that way haha. -The game ran great on Linux Overall I had fun playing, and enjoyed how well the game ran and looked, but man those bugs started to annoy me. Just be aware of that if you do buy this game, and I would recommend getting it on sale because of the numerous bugs.

Great fun but a really short game. By the time you can the feel for combat, the game ends. Hope we can more Gears game on PC to complete the story.
