I can understand why it sits at 'Mixed' at the time of this review. It's ultimate edition with some minor graphical updates. I'm just happy I can play the 1st gears game on steam even if it feels like its stuck back in 06
I like to see the gore and the m ratedness of the game that has been playable on my laptop from 2023. The sounds, the gore, and the music is as good as it always can be from the start. My time in the game from throwing grenades through a dynamic aim sight looks the best for a screenshot. Controller sensitivity is the best at 30 the mas setting is thirty. Xbox controller series X was the best latency w/ my lan ethernet. Social matches seem the easiest to jump into, yet my matches end when I get to join a team deathmatch or warzone. Competitive matches only take higher level players after lvl 50 or something...
parece que mejoraron varios errores de la ia, muy bien
i missed out on peak from the xbox 360
I've been a huge **Gears of War** fan since the original Xbox 360 release. I played it back then, loved it, and it ran surprisingly well for its time. That's why this remake is such a disappointment. Even on my high-end PC (Ryzen 9 9950X3D, 96 GB RAM, and an RTX 5090), the game is a buggy, poorly optimized mess. I've experienced constant bugs, severe FPS stuttering, random frame drops from around **260 FPS down to 70 FPS**, geometry glitches, and even crashes. The biggest issue came near the end of the game, where I got completely stuck because of a game-breaking bug. I couldn't progress at all and had to restart multiple times before it finally worked. That's simply unacceptable for a remake of such a legendary game. The controls also don't feel properly refined. Instead of improving the gameplay, they often feel clunky and dated. The cutscenes are another disappointment, with noticeable stuttering and inconsistent frame pacing that completely ruins the cinematic experience. The graphics themselves look good, but visuals alone can't save a game that's this poorly optimized. It honestly feels like The Coalition and Xbox Game Studios released this remake without the care and polish that the original deserved. What's most frustrating is that the game seems to become **more buggy the further you progress** through the campaign. I'm going to keep playing because I absolutely love the Gears of War universe and its story. But this has to be one of the worst optimized remakes I've played in years. It had so much potential, yet it feels rushed and unfinished. I really hope the developers fix these issues, because underneath all the bugs is still one of the greatest shooters ever made.
Gears Is one of my fav Shooters out there it makes me happy

9/10
Unless you never played it before.
Having played Gears of War on the Xbox 360 many times, and the Ultimate Edition on Xbox One, this was a fun way to revisit the classic. As a remaster of Gears it hits most of the right notes, but like any remaster done by a different company years later, it misses some of the finer points visually and atmospherically. But the addition of the extra missions and the improved cutscenes are a welcome. Performance-wise the game itself ran spectacularly, I kept a locked 90fps the whole time (bar the 30fps locked cutscenes). But there were notable graphical glitches I found right away. Namely that using DLSS at all, made the game entirely black. It was running fine, I could hear it, but the screen was black until I brought it down to FXAA. Truth be told most modern hardware probably doesn't need the upscaling here, its not that heavy of a game to run. The other frequent and annoying glitch was that squadmates would just get stuck and not move. I had to exit to menu and re-resume the game and it would snap them to my location, but it seems like their pathfinding gets stuck behind some triggers and they just refuse to move, even when ordered. I see it this way, if you played Gears of War years ago, its a welcome way to check it out again, especially if like me you've moved away from consoles and to PC only. If you've never played it and only have PC, its also worth grabbing. But if you also play Xbox and can just play the original or ultimate editions there, do that instead, since it was made for that hardware.
