its a little baffling to me dat theres no male characters and pretty much all of the classes are little girls with a few exceptions. wouldve liked some more adult proportioned characters. im a bit biased here cuz i usually play dungeon crawlers/team rpgs with a family team (3 chars, 2 parents 1 child) so the RPing factor for me is gone. add to the fact dat the game is a bit overly simplistic i wont keep playing as it got neither gameplay nor RPing going for me. i also wish the controls would be a bit more consistent (cancel button opens menu when i would want to leave a store etc) dunno if dats cuz i play on keyboard ill keep the thumbs up and not refund since its being on the cheap side and id like to support the dev regardless
The UI is a bit primitive but the game itself is pretty solid.

It's not bad. The price is right, the character choice is nice, the environs are ok, the monsters look cool af, the dev is furiously testing and updating and taking feedback on stuff. It's a goodie. If this dev had a bigger budget with the same ideas, the game they could make would be magnificent. This game is good and exactly what it looks like.
A Rpg game that has a bit of challenge to it. You can choose from a variety of 15 different classes, to fight though different floors of different dungeons to make it to the end. Overall the game isn't too hard as long as you have a good party composition, but there is a setting to change the difficulty if the enemies get too challenging. Overall it's a nice game, with nice music and interesting enemies and bosses.
Fun but easy dungeon RPG. The combat has an orthodox SMT vibe to it- equipment changes your elemental affinities in addition to stats, buffs matter, multihit attacks scale ridiculously well and give good feedback on each hit. The enemy designs look great overall. The game has some performance issues, but nothing debilitating so far. There are some frame stutters while going through the dungeon. But everything is turn-based so there's no consequence to it. The minimap disappears randomly, but you can refresh it by opening and closing the pause menu. Three minor improvements I would've liked to see: 1. Give the FOE icon more contrast with the map background. It's a little blue flame against blue tiles, and it blends in. 2. Allow character portraits from outside the character's class. Lots of other games from this genre let you mix and match. 3. Disable the shortcut and breakable wall indicators on the map until the player actually breaks the wall/opens the shortcut. It's more fun finding those for myself.
Honestly an alright RPG, a little on the easy side in my opinion but it does have plenty of class variety and solid pacing to make up for it being a little easy. it does show potential from the developers and hopefully they continue to improve : )
it seems very simple and that is what i like about it. you complete a dungeon then upgrade your equipment and repeat. its pure gameplay . super fun
17ish hours long if you go on and fully map the first 4 stages the last 3 it is a waste. The last was just 5 floors all the same grid. It really felt like they wanted to end the story and/or ran out of money and/or creativity to make complicated puzzles on the last stage. It is a dungeon crawler so the complexity of how hard the puzzles are matters. It gets harder until stage 5 then it almost all goes away. In exchange the enemies get harder but by then the part of 5 girls is strong enough to kill them all before they can even attack. The bosses do get to attack. The story is mostly on the 1st stage and when you meet the guardians. The end stage bosses are named "guardians". The story is ok i kind of do wish they had better passing than lets put the majority of it into 1 stage then almost nothing until the last 3. At the beginning you are hurting for gold and can barely buy anything but on stage 4 and later you can max out all consumable items and still have more. Maybe i did as i mapped the entire floor. I also always felt overpowered so balancing issue until the end. At the end i gave up mapping the entire floors of stage 5, 6 and 7 so maybe the overpowered thing was from all the fights i got into while mapping the entire floors of the below stages. There are 15 class though really you only have maybe 7 with some mostly duplicates with different portraits. The overlap was helpful to get 2 healers with different attacks. Yes the healers have attacks not just heal and buff. The melee classes mostly overlap with slightly different ability names that do the same thing. The mage classes not so much but in short you have attack and heal+buff. There might be a defense mage but i wasn't willing to find it. The game is short but by the end i was feeling it should have ended by now so was a little longer than it should have been. Mostly due to the 7th stage just being grid pattern floors without any real puzzle to solve.
This game, as far as raw game-play is concerned, is fantastic. I haven't gotten too far into the story, but the grind to level up doesn't feel like a grind. The combat is so fun, it almost makes you WANT to have random encounters. I highly suggest at least giving this game a look.
This is a wonderful little dungeon crawler with some minor issues that I have enjoyed so very thoroughly! Core Crossing is wonderfully balanced, allows for great builds, has enjoyable combat, and ends just before it starts getting tedious. If you want a EO style dungeon crawler WITHOUT the need to sink so many hours into the endgame/postgame this genre tends to have then this is a perfect game to pick up and play, maybe twice! While I wish it did have a postgame of some sort, or at least a NG+, I think it's probably for the best it ends as soon as it does. This is a small project after all. As for length, my time playing the game is likely skewed as I played the game with a single character which was very challenging and required some grinding but was actually possible despite the odds. This game will probably last around 10-20 hours for most players. Now for some negatives, while features I would like to be in the game that tend to be a staple for the genre could make the list it's not crime to not have them in your game so I'll focus on actual issues: First, RPGMaker. You shouldn't really let this put you off as Core Crossing actually uses RPGM fantastically to the point it mostly doesn't feel like it's in RPGM and it even does away with most of the frustrations such as allowing you to rebind the controls for the keyboard. I didn't play with a controller so I can't speak on the experience there. The only real issue it caused for me was that there's a slight delay when you save the game. The story. I have no issues with the premise, your party is undergoing a trial founded in ancient tradition. In this trial women must enter a dungeon and slay all manner of foul creatures as they make their way to the "zeint" to receive her blessing. After receiving the blessing the adventurers in question also receive some form of license that allows them to do things, I guess. The purpose of all of this is that many forms of evil and negative energy(possibly souls of the dead) are sucked into this dungeon forming monsters and other phenomena and by clearing the dungeon repeatedly the many adventurers that come here are ensuring that this evil doesn't overflow and re-enter the world. The great battle to save the world and seal the evil may have already happened in the past, I unfortunately have not played the previous game. The big issue here is that barely any of this is ever communicated to you. Also, the actual events that happen in the "story" have no REAL setup whatsoever, there's some "twists" but we had no expectations to begin with. The "translation"? is entirely readable if it was in fact translated, it feels like the real issue is the lack of dialogue. There's so little of it. Which was great! It made for a fantastic game, but I wonder why the attempt was made. In my opinion the story should have either been cut (or what I'd prefer) given more substance, I think there was like 7 lines during the confrontation of the final boss. All in all I love this game and am very much looking forward to what comes next, however I'd only recommend this if you know what you want from the game. At which point it will deliver.
