无上道 is one of thousands of nasty browser games infesting the "free" section of Steam, but it's not really free, and it's not really a PC game... this is a glorified webpage.
This is yet another pointless Chinese browser/mobile scam, it doesn't even have 3D graphics, it's just barely animated 2D images on an isometric 2D backdrop. Did someone say "Three Kingdoms War"? Yep, that's the theme. Again.
The funny part about this particular cancer is you're not even allowed to play unless a player in-game invites you, and because this is a browser scam, the only players are disorientated gambling addicts who confused this for a poker machine.
There's only a superficial "game" here. The game visuals and the game itself are incredibly shallow... think of them as the cabinet dress theme on a poker machine at the casino. That's basically what this is. So really, this webpage is just a veneer wrapped around a nasty, predatory mobile app-like real money transaction cash shop.
Thus, the true purpose of this webpage is to get you to hand your credit card details to greedy web developers so you can buy stuff in the nasty cash shop... it shouldn't be considered a real game because it's a RMT cash harvester, and has no place in your game library.
Putting that toxic mobile app tier monetisation aside... this is a webpage. I didn't spend thousands on a gaming PC so I could browse the web, and I don't think you did either... Steam isn't here to compete with Firefox and Chrome. The presence of this game on Steam is just a desperate attempt from a shady web developer to try scam a wider audience, an audience you certainly should not be part of.
There's no English translation for the this, but that's okay. The language of bad products is universal.
This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now.
Even after that, this still isn't really free as the game is infested with mobile app store like microtransactions. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this.
Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 8 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away.
Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it?
Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
