About
Future? No Thanks! is a narrative-driven, open-world adventure set in an ecosocialist utopia. The year is 2045, and society has never been better: climate change is finally being tackled, democracy thrives, and technology serves the public good.
There's just one problem: you.
You are Harvey Huffstone, a grumpy elder who no longer fits in, and today is the last day of your life.
Your final mission? Completing your bucket list before your self-scheduled euthanasia.
Indulge in outdated pleasures, explore a post-post-industrial Midwest, clash with a society that's moved on without you, and maybe, just maybe, leave with fewer regrets.

Explore a lively city, meet its wacky inhabitants, and complete 7 non-linear quests over 6 hours of gameplay.

An artisanal game made with locally sourced talent and minimal involvement from capitalists, marketers, or profiteers.

In a medium dominated by dystopias, Future? No Thanks! imagines a political project for the present.

Very funny and fun! Kind of like being part of a movie where you decide what order the story happens. I'm loving the light hearted irreverence. It helps digest all of the fears of today with some hope of tomorrow - though that hope still includes consequences of our current actions. Ugghhh! So good!!
I grew up playing the Molleindustria flash games, way before I understood what I was playing. Having grown up and been many times over very disappointed by the media that I was raised on: I was very happy to rediscover Molleindustria. This game is a gem that makes me less ashamed to hunch over my desk and be mean to people in a video game, because I get to feel smart and politically educated while I do so. I was jetlagged and couldn't make the [untitled games event] to say it in person so: Thank you!!

I’m really enjoying the game. I’m very interested in dystopias, utopias, and heterotopias, so finding a game that explores a “socialist” society from a critical and humorous perspective—without simply portraying it as something inherently “harmful” that must be avoided at all costs, while leaving us with the idea that the society we live in is “the least bad option possible”—almost feels like a miracle, a real rarity. I hope this is the beginning of a broader culture of critical games that can help us imagine other possible worlds beyond the jumble of neoliberal realities we seem to be swimming in.
It's the game we need right now, full stop. Also, it's really funny and smart. Love it!
One of the best narrative games I’ve played since Grim Fandango. In just a few hours (and with a ton of comic relief) it gets you thinking about life and death, socialism, family ties, and the pursuit of happiness, all while riding the greatest futuristic wheelchair ever put in a video game. And then there’s Harvey Huffstone: unbearable, hideous, and hopelessly in love with capitalism. Somehow, you’ll get so attached to him that you may start wondering whether there’s a boomer hidden deep inside you. Who is actually right here? The solar utopian society built around sharing power, resources, and responsibilities, or the old man who spent most of his life enjoying capitalism in its most brutal form? The answer seems obvious, until you realize that sometimes the most fun you can have is contributing to burning down the planet while riding a gigantic, flashy yellow hammer. It’s funny, absurd, clever, and so well written that it could have been a novel. And let’s not forget the music: never omnipresent, always there at exactly the right moment. Enjoy the experience, folks.
Nice! Love ripping around town in the chair and exploring the world
This is the best game I have ever played in my life. holy heck.
I love the art style and humor of the game. It's like a light hearted look at very serious and current subjects, all with a positive lilt, that is if you believe in a better world for all, while also not pulling punches about everyone's right to be. It's sweet but bracing, like a lemon drop.
I enjoyed this game significantly more than I thought I would. The voice acting and writing are so charming, it feels like every single line of dialogue is worth hearing. The animations and camera work are shockingly dynamic for a primarily solo-dev-d game. The production value is legitimately impressive. This filed a "TellTale Games" shaped hole in my heart. I legitimately can't recommend giving this game a shot enough.
