I remember. 1994 Panzer General 1995 Panzer General 2 1996 Fantasy General 1997 Star General 1997 Pazifik General 1997 Panzer General 3D 1998 Dynasty General 1999 Panzer General 4: Western Assault 2000 Panzer General Operation Barbarossa 2011 Panzer Corps 2019 Fantasy General 2 2020 Panzer Corps 2 Round Strategy at its Best in Hex Fields. Long Tradition, Night long Gaming Sessions, just pure Fun. I love this kind of Games since 1991 BATTLE ISLE. Today there are so many Games and Genres out there, it is hard to find something like this. I did. Welcome to FRONTLINE: PANZER AND GENERALS VOL1. The FRONTLINE Series is for me the best Homage to the PANZER GENERAL Series. It started in 2019 and has now 5 Games out there. After WESTERN FRONT, THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR, BLITZKRIEG and WORLD WAR II we now have PANZER AND GENERALS VOL1. This time we play the German Army taking on the Eastern Front in World War II. The Timeline is 1941 to 1945 and it started with OPERATION BARBAROSSA. 10 Cards are waiting to be conquered. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2985455656 Starting a Map, you will see many, maaaaaaany Units. You can rest assured, you can easily see who is enemy and who is friend. ^^ The whole Map can be easily zoomed in and out with the Mouse Rad. Before you move your First Units, take your time and familiarize yourself with the units. Very important, we have a Rock, Paper, Scissor Mechanic. This Means that Units are Strong against special other Units, but also Weak against other kind of Units. So be carefull, blindly rushing will lead you fastly into Doom. In the Beginning you have the Control over typical Ground Units like Tanks, Infantry, Artillery and more. In the later Maps you will also gain control over Air and Sea Units. Each Unit is different from others, with own Strengths and waeknesses. And each Unit can level up and earn new abilities. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2985456096 Moving and attacking are easy done by Mouse and don´t have a special Order, so if you move first or attack first is your Choice. As said before, think before you move. It may be a little confusing at first with so many units, but it's easy to get into. There is also a little Tutorial that is shown each time when you start a Map first. Click through and learn the Basics. Oh i forgot, your Main and optional Targets will be also shown before you enter the Map. Find them and make your Strategy. What can i say? This Game is really exciting. I love this Planning, Moving, Attacking thing. It is really up to you, how you do it. The Game gives you the Tools, how you use them, is your choice. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2985455828 The Graphics are really nice done and amazingly detailed, this Game has over 200 (!) Units The Sound fits also well in and there are also interesting Radio Speakings while you play. Well done. If you like Games like Panzer General or just exciting Roundstrategy Gaming, then this is for you. It is also Beginner Friendly for those who want to learn about this Genre. I´m still very, very impressed that the whole Series is done by only one Developer. He is such a nice Guy who really listen to his Community. Thank you for inviting me into this new Part of your Series. And thank YOU for Reading. [h1][url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/26335619-Adult-World-Gamers/] You like this Review? After playing through the first mission which took me an hour and a half. I can recommend Frontline vol 1 to anyone who's already played the other games in the series and wants more of the same. I can't recommend this game to newcomers as it throws you in head first with no tutorial and 100 plus units on the first map. If you want to try this series. I recommend Frontline world war II first. The missions start small and teach you the basics. And build up gradually.
This is a straightforward wargame. What you see is what you get. Learning curve is really low when compared to more 'serious' wargames. It's a simple, easy to learn, beautiful strategy game. Nothing else to add.
The game's description makes it sound very promising, but the reality is disappointing. Graphics are excellent, the zoom feature makes the game more interesting visually. But there are some gameplay issues, notably, twice now after loading a saved game and gaining Victory status, only to be informed of a marginal victory because I failed to achieve all goals, which was incorrect, I occupied all occupiable spaces, eliminated all enemies, every one, double and triple checked. Generally the game gets monotonous after a while, I didn't play at the hardest level, but know that the AI will make the game even more monotonous at the harder levels. Wish I hadn't spent the money on it, but there you go, I tried an update on an old genre, a drop in the bucket compared to the hundreds players have to spend now to stay in some games, not me anymore, my days of being suckered by game developers are over.
Had fun with the rock paper scissor mechanic, whilst I haven't seen all the units available in the game yet, I have seen a very good variety from the get go. Wished the game had some background music though.
each and every game in the series so far has improved from the previous one, with this one been add by me for testing, the developer is quick to add and amend / fix anything found and is easy to work with and implement any suggestion and request as long as it's reasonable and doable and tbh needed etc by the players who ask for it. i'd recommend this and all his games as you can't have too many hex based war games in a collection and for the price, a welcome addition for anyone who love the type, easy to play, each one adds more and more from the start and re playable with plenty of different types on weapons and units to choose, maps aren't the biggest, but plenty of scope for different play styles and approaches and not just a tank fest with more than a few options, once you learn one game, the rest are slightly different but the core is the same, so easy to master and enjoyable for a weekend or longer play depending of your settings and ability.
Great game for a great price!
