Frenzy Islands

Quite nice for a quick bite – but I'd rather wait for a discount. I tried Frenzy Islands because I was just in the mood for something tropical – and yes, the game really does look pretty. The islands are colorful, the characters are kind of likeably crazy, and the music pleasantly surprised me. Nicely varied, never annoying, and fits the setting well. The gameplay is step-by-step, rather leisurely, nothing complicated. It's a mix of cooking, a bit of strategy, and story nonsense with survivors stranded on an island who suddenly have to deal with a chieftain and a shaman. It's all pretty weird, but entertainingly done. What I liked: You can just switch off, click a bit, laugh a bit – perfect for a half hour here and there. What I don't like: The price. For what it offers, the full price is simply too high. My tip: Put it on your wishlist and wait for the winter sale. I expect Frenzy Islands to drop considerably in price – and then it'll definitely be more worthwhile. It's not a must-have, but it's okay for a quick game. Cozy casual game for 1-2 eves, tropical music and art makes you feel comfortable, otherwise same time-management game.

Very short, easy, linear, the writing is there, but it's very often very predictable, very colonialist and a little weird. But it's fun to relax. Worth 3.99. At 7.99 (price on sale) it's too expensive.
